And Yet I Stayed

Summary:

When FBI profiler April Sparks wakes up in a strange room, injured and disoriented, she has no memory of how she got there. The only person with answers is Benjamin Linus, the very man she had interrogated in the Swan Station shortly before.

But instead of a prison cell, she finds a home. Instead of threats, she is met with hospitality. Forced to remain in the village of the Others, April soon finds herself living under the same roof as her captor.

Yet Ben is the embodiment of contradiction: on one hand, the cold manipulator who sacrifices people like pieces on a chessboard; on the other, the lonely father who would do anything to protect his daughter. The deeper April delves into his psyche, the more the lines between disgust and attraction begin to blur. Painfully, she realizes that Ben is not only manipulating the world around her, but slowly her mind as well.

And when she is finally given a chance to escape, her biggest problem is no longer getting away. It is erasing the traces he left behind in her mind... and in her heart.

Hello my fellow Losties,

I know the fandom is super old but after another Rewatch (after almost 10 years) my Benjamin Linus obsession came back and I went deep down into the Lost rabbit hole again. I really hope to still find some hardcore fans out there who want to read about our favourite master manipulator of all time.

This story is a real slow-burn. If you love seeing sexual and emotional tension slowly build between two complex characters, starting with nothing more than words, intense glances, subtext and mind games, you’re in the right place. It’s a deep dive into their psychology, where the intimacy slowly builds up before anything physical is happening between them. But I promise there will be intense steamy scenes later on in the story ;)

Also this story is a translation from German, so English is not my native language. I'm translating my texts with ChatGPT and DeepL but I'm always proofreading my texts. Doesn't mean there can't be mistakes. So I warned you.

I made some visuals for my character April Sparks and used Anne Popplewell as a faceclaim but edited her hairstyle with AI so she looks more like I imagine her. But aside from her character I did my cover art and the asthetics with Canva and another collage app.

Also I recently stumbled across a song that fits my story perfectly so I choose to add it in this chapter together with a link to YouTube if you like to have a listen.
