Chapter Text
Not having Rae-Rae around was like phantom pain. Crime scenes always reminded her of Rae-Rae. But those days are over. She has amazing friends who love her and don’t judge her. Heck, if Chloe doesn’t find Lucifer crazy as hell… but no. It’s different with Ella. She’s not pretending when she says she can see ghosts. Or she wouldn’t be. If Ella told them. Which she wouldn’t, because she can’t face them looking at her…
The way everyone had.
Doesn’t it bother you? Rae-Rae had asked her just before she moved. Hiding part of yourself away?
I’m used to it, Ella had mumbled.
And she was— used to hiding her fascination for “creepy crawlies”, hiding her love for dissections, hiding her love for Comic-Cons, hiding her obsession for forensics (which feels abnormal), hiding her feelings. Nobody knows about the way she imagines in scarily accurate detail the way in which someone was murdered— human or animal. Yeah, Leo? She could see exactly how that played out in her mind. Nobody knows the best kiss she ever had was with Macey Jones freshman year of high school. She never lets it get further than a kiss or a one-night stand, always going for the bad boys.
How could she explain all the ways she’s messed up?
Lucifer’s lucky— Chloe doesn’t mind his crazy.
