Chapter Text
How do you convince someone they deserve to be redeemed when they have never believed in redemption?
How can someone not see their actions—even though fueled by personal preference—make them a good person, whether they want to believe it or not.
Those thoughts plagued Charlie’s mind since she was a little girl and continued to invade while an adult. Ever since that dreadful night, she thought of so many ways to repay his kindness and, recently, how she could pay it forward to those who felt as hopeless as she had.
Albeit against her will, Charlie remembered every single moment of the horror, sometimes forcefully reminded during certain instances in her daily life. Usually, she can snap out of her daze, put on a brave smile, and pretend everything is sunshine and rainbows when she’s really suffering on the inside. Other times . . . it takes forever to calm her down from the overwhelming, violent panic attacks. Although she met a fellow hellborn, whom she considers her best and closest friend, Charlie wished that day had never happened. One thing was certain.
She would never forgive her mother for being so . . . so . . . unbothered by the trauma she endured—
And how disrespectful she acted toward the Sinner who saved Charlie’s life.
