Work Text:
Mordecai woke up in a sweat, he let out a loud scream as sweat trickled down his forehead. His chest puffed up and down as he came to his senses and realized it was a dream, it would be a genuine miracle if nobody woke up. Pops was a deep sleeper and Rigby wasn't here... Skips, Muscle Man and High Five Ghost did live in the park. But, they couldn't have heard it because they lived outside the Blue House.
That was until he heard a groan. Oh no, this is bad! He had forgot Benson, his boss, was also here. Benson would normally go to his apartment after work, but tonight he had an overflow of paperwork to eat through and probably fell asleep halfway through it. He heard footsteps as he pathetically pulled the covers over him, in a childish attempt to hide. He slowed his breathing as the door gently opened, like a child pretending to sleep (which he kinda was... Just as a very tall child who can legally do adult things...).
"I know you're awake. Stop pretending." Benson's voice echoed in the room, groggy and deep from tiredness. But, Mordecai didn't give up the act immediately. He started fake snoring and curling up into a better sleeping position, at this rate he would actually fall asleep. That was until Benson ripped the covers off Mordecai. At this point, Mordecai knew he was absolutely busted and that there was no possible situation where he even could begin to prove himself innocent. So he gave himself in, quietly praying he wouldn't get fired.
He put his hands together as he lurched his body forwards, "Benson, I'm so sorry! I swear I didn't mean to-" He pleaded, trying to explain himself.
"Cut it out, Mordecai. Just, ugh, tell me what's wrong." Benson crossed his arms, looking away from Mordecai with a huff.
"I-I had this really weird nightmare! With these demons chasing me and trying to eat my head off... It was intense, bro..." He started to ramble, until Benson shut him up by trying to press a hand to his lips. That was until Benson accidentally fell onto Mordecai.
It was an awkward position, Benson's leg pressed inbetween Mordecai's legs. Faces not even inches apart, both of their faces flushed until Mordecai kissed him. Actually kissed him. It was sloppy, a bit rough, but it was heartfelt. Benson's eyes widened, not out of shock, well maybe partially, but out of pleasure. Benson laid his hand onto Mordecai's face, rubbing the other man's soft skin as they kissed under the soft bedroom lighting. Mordecai's hands slid down to Benson's waist, pulling it closer down to him and caressing the skin underneath his skin.
The kiss began to become more intense, their tongues slowly mingling as they pulled themselves closer to each other.
"Mordecai, god... I never knew you were a good kisser." Benson whimpered, he was pressed on top of him. Covers freshly draped over their bodies.
"Well, I guess it's because you never kissed me..." He teased, being a horrible flirt but a man with enough passion to cover it all up.
The kiss continued, time passed but neither of them cared. Their bodies stuck in a romantic dance between new souls who never knew they could match, or in this instance couldn't. Despite all of the fights and petty arguments they had over work, they both were made for each other. They weren't what society would consider a perfect pair, but they were perfect for one another and that was all that mattered to them. Benson's eyes started to droop down slightly, eyelids heavy.
"Hey Benson? You okay?" Mordecai questioned, wanting to make sure that Benson was still okay with this.
"I'm just a bit tired... Oh shoot! I have paperwork to do!" He pulled himself off Mordecai, almost getting out of bed before Mordecai grabbed Benson's wrist.
"Wait, dude! Paperwork can wait, you're already tired..."
Benson sighed, "Well. I suppose I could get some sleep." He leaned back into Mordecai. Falling off his body until he rolled off him beside him, curling up beside him. Mordecai held him tight, arms curling around his bosses body.
"Good night..." He pressed a kiss to Benson's head, but he was already long gone. He smiled gently as he turned off the lamp on his desk, leaving the room in darkness. As he closed his eyes he fell into a soft slumber.
God, I hope Rigby doesn't come home early. But that didn't matter anymore, all that matter was one another as they slept in pure, romantic bliss.
