Chapter Text
Meeple wasn’t surprised when Bolt and Larry got super close to each other. They were both super extroverted and outgoing, so it was only inevitable that they would get so close.
What Meeple didn’t like was just how close they had gotten.
The 8 ball didn’t like that they bonded so quickly because Larry was theirs. They had a massive crush on the cop, and they were very close until Meeple (reluctantly) decided to introduce him to Bolt, and the Battle Bumper quickly took him away from them.
The sensible part of Meeple’s brain was trying to remind them that whatever was going on between the cop and the Battle Bumper probably wasn’t romantic in the slightest. They were clearly just friends, sure they were very close, but they were just friends as Larry kept saying, nothing more.
Which only made what they ended up walking in on even more heartbreaking.
They headed to the Starr Park security office to pay Larry a visit, however he was nowhere to be seen. Meeple knew that Larry was on his break, and they grew suspicious over the fact that he wasn’t in the break room eating his lunch. Maybe it was weird that they cared so much about his whereabouts, but with how close he was with Bolt, they didn’t want to risk catching them on a date or something.
No, they were being irrational. Bolt was probably busy trying to beat his fastest time or something.
They walked by a random broom closet in the office, and they heard… something. There was someone in the closet, but Meeple couldn’t exactly make out what they were saying. They decided to open it, and the world around them froze once they did so.
Larry was in the closet, and he was in there with Bolt. He wasn’t just in there helping the cop find something in the closet, but the Battle Bumper was making out with him, evident by quiet moans coming out of both of their voice boxes.
Meeple’s heart shattered into a million pieces, and the air suddenly became too thin for them to breathe. They wanted to pinch themself, this had to be a dream.
They were snapped out of their trance by a gasp, and now Larry and Bolt were looking at them with shock. “M-Meeple-! H-how long have you… b-been here?” They couldn’t respond to Larry’s question. They wanted to, but nothing would come out when they tried.
Eventually Meeple found their voice again. “How long have you been…?”
“Uh… maybe about a week after you introduced us?” Bolt said.
Meeple’s eyes started to water, and they ran off, ignoring Larry yelling for them. Lawrie and R-T definitely gave them a weird look as they ran out of the building but they didn’t care. They hated themself for introducing the two to each other. They hated Larry and Bolt for getting together behind their back.
They hated themself for being a wimp and not confessing first. None of this would have happened if they weren’t such a pussy.
