Chapter Text
It was confusing.
Shocking.
Completely unexpected. You didn't see the dark silhouette appear from behind you until it was too late, and your back was shoved against a wall in a dark alley, body blocking any means of escape.
You were there at the wrong time, wrong place. Having seen it trying to hide away, running away from something, someone. Dagger sparkling on its belt as a beacon, a warning
"Don't. You. Dare. Scream"
Your phone crackled alive as it lay discarded on the ground, a rough and unknown voice pushing through the speaker.
Its... his hand was firmly pressed against your mouth, gloved fingers curling to claw at your cheeks as he held you in place so that you weren't able to scream. The other one against your neck, offering an uncomfortable pressure to it.
You had a feeling no sound would come out even if you wanted to, face set in a terrified expression, and throat dry.
The slightest movement or inhale would make his arm tense up, but he made no attempt to hurt you. The shadows surrounding him made him appear bigger and more intimidating than he truly was.
It was as he was evaluating you, seeing how far and how much you were willing to push for him to decide whether to end you or let you go.
The minutes of silence felt like hours, stomach churning the more it dragged on.
"Swear... that you won't scream... or run. If you understand... nod."
You forced yourself to relax, hunched shoulders slowly falling down, panicked breathing becoming even as you nodded to the best of your ability.
You could make out one eye examining you intently, it shone ominously by the streetlight and through the tangled black locks covering his face.
You both stayed like this for a few more seconds before he released your face, but he still kept his forearm pressed against your neck.
"Forget about this... don't say anything... to the police. If I hear something... I'll know it's you... and I'll come back."
A promise.
No, a threat.
You briefly wondered if he even knew where you lived, but based on how he was able to speak through the phone and how inhumanely strong and quick he was, you didn't doubt it.
Finally, he lets go of you, standing straight and taking one step back... His form staggered, and instinctively, you held his arms, steadying him. You felt your hand touch something wet and warm, the iron smell soon hits you.
Blood.
