Chapter Text
It took one month before the previously held peace began to splinter. Or more specifically, Chuuya held it together for a month before making a move; a peaceful one at that. He did things the way he had seen Mori do during his tenure as Port Mafia's boss before his untimely death.
Fukuzawa accepted the invitation, a light tea luncheon mediated by Taneda in broad daylight. He recognized and accepted the new head's invitation as a sign of peace and mixed in part by his own curiosity, he arrived as promised.
The lunch itself was longer than expected, a full lunch meant to be social with good food and considerably amicable atmosphere. Nakahara spoke of his respect to his previous boss and of his respect to Fukuzawa and what he knew of Taneda and Fukuzawa spoke of some fonder memories of the doctor. It was lighthearted. Oddly so, coming from Nakahara's strong character. But neither pried and the lunch was concluded with tea and unexpected gifts of fine wine from the new boss.
It wasn't until the last moment, when Taneda said his farewells and left in his car that the redhead requested just a moment more of the older man's time, letting his own car stall by their side like a hulking armored shield.
It was then that the mood shifted. But oddly enough, it wasn't towards a negative. Not really. Moreso, a hesitant consideration. Uncharacteristic of what Fukuzawa knew of Nakahara. So he kept his silence, letting the younger take his time to speak.
But once he did, the reason for the sudden secret conversation as well as the entire lunch became known and with it, his curiosities doubled. But he let it go, meeting the new request with a silence nod accepting the folded note Nakahara handed over with both hands and a curteous bow. He accepted so with his own bow.
Chuuya watched the man turn and walk away a considerable distance before getting in the back seat of the armored suv with a sigh of relief, scrubbing down his face with his hands. His expectations had been mostly correct and Fukukuzawa, bless the man, had expectedly not pried any further out of respect. Whether that had been because of Chuuya's noticable discomfort or because that was just the man's character, he wasn't entire sure. Perhaps it was both?
But what mattered was that this nonsense with Dazai was going to end. He was one step closer to ensuring that it happened. Now all he had to do was get through his meeting with Kunikida in one piece.
