1. Yakov
Being born to the royal family, Yakov had known his duty since he were a child. He was the heir, he was destined to lead his kingdom to greatness. To do that, he had to sacrifice his freedom. He had gladly did that. He left his beloved to be married to Duke Baranovskaya’s daughter. Years later, he did not regret his decision. He did his duty as a king and somehow he and Lilia got along.
When Viktor turned down all the woman who were presented to him, Yakov felt disappointed. He had understood when Viktor were younger. He was a child. He still wanted more time to play and to nurture his talents. But now Viktor is an adult of twenty seven, way past his age to marry, and he still yet choose a wife. Simply because, and he quotes, had found his love.
Yakov does not understand. What does Vitya hope to gain from this relationship?
Yakov knows Katsuki. They had met when he visited the East. He was a royalty, but so far in line of succession no one really paid attention to him. There is nothing special about him. But Viktor went so far for Katsuki he even asks him and Lilia to bless them to join in a marriage. They are both man, for heaven’s sake! They can not get married!
Even though he is pissed, he can not deny the happiness he feels everytime he sees Vitya and Katsuki together. Viktor has been a bright child but the radiance he feels when he sees Viktor is different with Katsuki around. Since Katsuki, Viktor laughs more, jokes more, studies more, and actually takes his job more seriously. And taking his job as a king more seriously means he is becoming a better king.
Well, he suppose he will let Vitya keep Katsuki around for a few years.
2. Lilia
Lilia Baranovskaya was taught to be a loving woman, despite circumstances. That also include when his only son, Viktor, went to her and ask for a blessing for his marriage with Katsuki.
(Viktor gets an hour of lecture instead).
Lilia does not care about Viktor’s choice of his partner in bed, regardless of gender. But to ask to be married to Katsuki, that is an insult! Not only because he is a man! Viktor is just running away from his responsibilities!
Calm down. She has to keep calm. She is a lady. She must maintain her grace.
On times like this, Lilia likes to go to the ballet studio and practice. A habit she picks up in her youth.
Except, Katsuki is in the studio. The very same person who makes her can not calm down in the first place is in the same room as her.
Remain calm, Lilia. You are a lady after all.
“Evening, Madam.” Katsuki bows. “I was just finishing. Let me grab a few things and I will leave momentarily.”
“That would not be necessary.” Lilia folds her arms. “Show me your first position.”
“Excuse me?”
“I know you did ballet. Yakov told me he met Minako Okukawa during his visit on the East. She tutored you, does she not? She was my pupil.” Lilia says. “Now show me.”
Okukawa had been an odd ball, even when she was under her tutelage. She retired when she was at the peak of her career, claiming that she wanted to see the world. Somehow she ended up in the east and took a man as a disciple?
A man doing ballet is seen as odd. An anomaly. A weakness. Yet Katsuki does not show any sign of weakness at all in every step he takes. Lilia can see Katsuki’s confidence when he spins and jumps, as if screaming to all who mocks him to go to hell.
Katsuki keeps dancing and Lilia keeps smiling. It has been a while since she saw a worthy danseur. Vitya can keep this one for the time being, she supposes.
3. Georgi
Georgi had a good life. He might not inherit the throne, but he had a good life. He had a good family, good career, and good relations. But his life was shattered into pieces when his betrothed, Anya, had nulled their betrothal.
Needless to say, his life is now a spiraling mess. Maybe that is the main reason Viktor made him his advisor, to distract Georgi from his mess. Although from Viktor's side it was a bad decision.
And yes, Georgi is distracted. His work as King’s Advisor has kept him busy. Georgi suddenly finds his life a meaning again! He is constantly in a meeting and or by Viktor’s side. He begins to love his job and life again. Anyway, speaking of Viktor’s side ....
Yuuri Katsuki is not as bad as people say.
Sure, he and his cousin are ... not normal. Katsuki is the epitome of Sex on LegsTM (and very proud of it too. Many noblemen and women he personally knew had a crisis thanks to this person) and Viktor is super possesive of him. People mock them for it—and Katsuki especially since he is a man and he steals The Number One ManTM (Viktor) from the world. But when you get past those Sex on LegsTM , Katsuki is actually a pretty nice man.
(Okay, maybe he is a bit biased. But when many people laughed at him for skating for Anya at an open exibition, Katsuki called out to him and said he totally relates to him).
Yeah. Katsuki is a nice person.
4. Mila
Mila Babicheva is technically not a royalty. But her aunt is married to a Baranovskaya, and Lilia Baranovskaya is the queen. She also plays a lot with Yuri since they were children, and Viktor says whoever manage to befriend Yuri is a family. So ... she is counted as one, right?
Mila visits the palace a lot. Sometimes it is a wonder why does she does not live there permanently. Her father is in the council so she spends most of her time here. Either playing with Yuri, studying with one of the mentors, or studying alone. By studying alone she means running away from her mentors. She does this a lot.
It is not like she hates her lessons. They are interesting, but there are much more interesting things, like riding a horse! It feels extreme and it drives adrenaline instead of a boring-ass knitting.
Gladly, when she wants to get away from all that, she has one person she can count on.
“Are they gone?”
“They are.” Katsuki says. “You can come out now.”
Mila laughs as she steps out from Yuuri’s wardrobe. “Thank you, Mr. Katsuki! I owe you my life!”
“You can call me Yuuri if you want.” Yuuri smiles. “Where are you going now?”
“The stable.”
“They are bathing the horses.”
“No!” she yells in agony. “After all the effort I’ve done. Now what do I do?”
“Well, I’m doing nothing. I can spend some time with you.” Yuuri shrugs.
“You can?”
“We can start by teaching you how to move more feminine.”
“And teach me how to use those sexy moves you put on to Vitya? No thanks.”
“Sure. Why not.” Yuuri smirks. “Think about it. You can use them to charm your way to the stable without worrying about sneaking around. Those type of men are easy preys after all.”
Woah. This man is extreme! No wonder Vitya is head over heels.
“Teach me then!” Mila exclaims excitedly. Yuuri simply nods and meets her excitement.
5. Yuri
Yuri Plisetsky hates Yuuri Katsuki with all of his being.
Because, how can you not?! The man is practically a devil. He pisses everyone here and there and takes pleasure of it! You should really see that time when he roast a lady. He also can’t keep his hands of Viktor, and Viktor is the same! The way they see and talk to each other is gross. All those caresses and kissy faces in public. Yuri wonders how can they even allowed to be together.
But what pisses off Yuri more is Yuuri Katsuki thinks he is a good actor.
Yuri wonders how can everyone be this blind—how Viktor, a man who really has a good judge of character, can be this blind. It is so painfully obvious the foreigner is hiding something. There is no way a man can be that fearless where enemies outnumbers allies. Yuuri Katsuki must be up to something. Yuri does not know what it is, but he will find out!
For now, he just lets Katsuki do as he pleases. At least he keeps Viktor on the ground. He also cooks good pork cutlet bowl.

“I’m always nervous when my family and you are in the same room.”
“Why?”
“Well,” Viktor opens his shirt and dumps it on the ground before joining Yuuri in the bed. “I can’t help but to think about how they think about you.”
“It doesn’t matter to me.”
“It does to me. I just want them to see how wonderful you are, love.”
“I like your family.” Yuuri shifts closer to Viktor so he can sleep on Viktor’s chest. “Your parents are okay. I think the reason your mother hasn’t yet hired an assassin to kill me because I can do ballet. Your cousin is funny and very passionate about love.”
“Not as passionate as me to you.” Viktor kisses Yuuri’s eyelids. Yuuri giggles.
“Yes he is not, darling.” Yuuri exclaims. “Yuri is cute. I like him.”
“You have a long thought about everyone and your only thought about Yurio is cute? He is not going to like it.”
“What can I say? He is just an angry small kitten. I love kittens. Speaking of Yuri, his friend Mila is also lovely. I get along with her the most.” Yuuri sighs. “Honestly, when I come here, I thought there would be constant cold war between your family and I. I am glad I only have the rest of the world to hate me now.”
Viktor hugs him tighter. “Thank you.”
“For what?”
“For taking the time to befriend my family.”
“It’s one less problem that way.” Yuuri replies.
