Garaki had to survive, he just had to! His master just died in the other room but he instructed him not to open the door should things go south and indeed things went south. But if he told the truth…
No matter, Garaki got this far and he wasn't going to fail his masters mission this easily, just had to redirect the brat he trained and raised and all will be well. Hijacking the master's old plane and redirecting some signals, he decided the best course of action was a group call with all of his master's contemporaries.
The people he got in touch with were of course the league of villains due to them being a small army that was easily manipulated due to their hatred of hero society and the rest being individuals.
Gigantomachia was the first to properly follow All for one's ideology and was one to weed out traitors and cowards out of the movement due to his wrath and dedication. He indeed would take this the hardest.
The Yuga family was another matter entirely, the only anchor keeping them loyal just being offed by some random.
Shigaraki would take this terribly, after being raised since a very tender age and situation. Should he ever find out that the master was behind it all, he will surely go ballistic.
Feeling things are going to go wrong, he decided to start the call anyways. “What is it, you were supposed to return already," Shigaraki said impatiently. “Yes, also where is all for one? He usually heads these calls” Gigantomachia said. He took a deep breath, almost vomited and then said the words that changed everything.
“All for one was assassinated by what we thought was your everyday business man. Due to a quirk malfunction or two All for one is not only permanently dead but his powers are taken by the business man. His name is Hisashi Midoriya” Garaki said, panic taking hold of his tone.
The silence was deafening, as if you strained your ears you could hear the atoms whizzing by, uninhibited by the sheer unstoppable tension. Then Shigaraki got up, and all hell broke loose. “Youre lying, you have to be! There's no way he could die, not with the quirks he had. What actually happened” Shigarkai demanded, uncaring of the reactions around him.
“Thats how it happened, the idiot stabbed him right in the neck, severing several breathings tubes including the main one! Then in a flash of golden light they merged, leaving the random with all of all for one's quirks, including all for one! That's how it happened” Garaki defended, not wanting to be in the hot seat for his failure.
“Then where were you? You could have defended your master" Gigantomachia pointed out, unstoppable in his approach as always.
“The doors were locked, you think I can bust through walls with my immortality quirk?! I'm just a scientist" Garaki shouted, tired of the unspoken and worded accusations.
“The league of villains shall remain to be created fully, while small now we shall grow our numbers and topple this rotten society” Shigaraki finally interrupted, his tone resolute. “Gigantomachia, I'd like you to join our ranks as a last resort for a deciding hand in battle” Shigaraki offered, looking a bit worse for wear. Gigantomachia simply nodded and exited the call.
Dabi, who hasn't spoken once the entire call, decided to open his mouth.”Wait, so all for one is done? So no Nomus, no funding, no influence?! What a fucking rip off, I'm leaving this shit show before the ship sinks” Dabi said, walking off screen. “Coward” Shigaraki shouted after, seething and snarling. “I have my own goal, see you all never” Dabi said, a door heard closing behind him.
“It is survival of the fittest after all, and I was promised a piece of his quirk, but that's not a thing anymore so I must take my leave and deliver my brand of domination elsewhere” Nine said, reminding everyone of his presence on the call before leaving.
Garaki was at a loss, two to potentially three out of a small handful of the party that worked under all for one just up and left the cause to do as they pleased and Shigaraki was taking orders from himself. Not only that, the damned brat got gigantomachia to join his league of villains, essentially making them unstoppable for most groups.
Wait a minute, he still had his nomus, All for one created a lot before he passed. Not even all might could stop him now, he just needed the perfect day!
He just had to bide his time.
