Chapter 1: Drag Show Antics

Chapter Text

“Yes, girly! Yes!” Monoma squealed, throwing paper yen towards a performer. He clapped for the drag queen who was spinning and twirling before him. He leaned back onto Shinso’s lap, who was holding his hips to keep him stable.

“Wow! She knows how to move! And move! And… woah!” Kaminari clapped and looked at the performer in awe.

“That woman has the largest body parts I’ve ever seen!” Iida shouted.

“They’re fake,” Kirishima sighed, “They’re plastic and silicone just for the effect.”

“That’s not all natural?” Iida gasped.

“Yes! Yes!” Monoma slid open a folding fan and threw it in the air several times, letting it click back each time. Kirishima, Kaminari, and Sero all screamed along with Monoma. Todoroki poised himself on his barstool awkwardly and clapped. Iida kept sliding his glasses up and down to get a good look at the performer. Sero looked over to check on Shinso. Shinso wouldn’t take his eyes off of Monoma. Every time Monoma cheered, Shinso cheered along with him. He wasn’t looking at the performers. He was looking at Monoma’s brightening face.

“This is the most fun I’ve ever had in my life!” Kaminari squealed.

“Right?! This is great!” Kirishima threw his own paper yen bills onto the stage.

“Well, those are my girlies out there! Top performers!” Monoma bragged, “The best of the best!”

“Why don’t you do these kinds of performances?” Kaminari asked earnestly.

“Yeah, I thought you’d love doing something like this. You’re like the biggest attention hog,” Sero snorted.

Monoma grinned smugly despite the obvious jab, “Hm, I don’t enjoy playing around with femininity. Flamboyance is all I need to catch people’s eyes!”

Shinso pulled Monoma back into his lap again. Monoma giggled as Shinso planted several firm kisses on his cheek. Monoma kissed back every so often. Once the show was over, the performers cleared out and the place turned into a regular club again. Monoma led his boyfriend onto the dance floor. They looked into each other’s eyes, their faces barely an inch from each other. Monoma spun around, wrapped Shinso’s arms around his chest, and started grinding back on him.

“He’s fucking crazy,” Kirishima laughed.

“He’s feral for Shinso,” Kaminari shook his head.

“Where’s Iida?” Kirishima looked around curiously.

Iida was in front of a tall drag queen. The drag queen’s silicone breast inserts were eye level with Iida. Iida sweated nervously, looking up at the drag queen’s face.

“Yes, honey?” The drag queen flashed a little smirk, “Can I help you?”

Iida cleared his throat, “M-My name is Iida Tenya. My pronouns are he and him. What are your pronouns? Are you transgender? Non-binary? Gay? Queer? Um… I learned a lot of words… sorry if I’m getting them wrong.”

“Oh, he’s cute,” Another drag queen came up behind Iida, “I love a man with glasses.”

“I-I respectfully decline, but thank you!” Iida shook his head vigorously, “I’m sorry if I am being rude! You are very beautiful!”

“Are you here with friends? You should go find them,” The tall drag queen giggled.

Monoma noticed Iida out of the corner of his eye and ran to him, grabbing his hand, “Sorry, girls, he’s just a curious straight boy. He’s harmless. Come on, Iida.”

“Oh, boy, he looks annoyed,” Kirishima sighed.

“You just embarrassed me so badly,” Monoma groaned, “I told you to just watch and keep your mouth shut!”

“I’m very sorry,” Iida hung his head, “I panicked.”

“Cut him some slack, Neito,” Shinso approached from the dance floor, “Don’t you want to show me off to the rest of your–”

“Yes, yes!” Monoma said in a sing-song voice, “Come! I’m going to rub it in Hatori’s face! That got a catch like you!”

Shinso glanced back at the guys smugly as he was being dragged away.

“Can we do this more?” Kaminari squealed.

“I’ll pass… this is too much noise for me,” Todoroki cupped his hands over his ears, “I think Iida and I will get going.”

“Kirishima, will you help me practice the right terms before I come to the next show?” Iida sulked.

“You bet, buddy. Try not to be so hard on yourself, okay?”

As the night moved forward, the group was mostly heavily intoxicated, except for Monoma. He had only drunk one can of alcoholic seltzer over the course of the night. He had promised to be the designated driver and was looking after the boys, who were all falling all over themselves. Sero and Kaminari found some burlesque performers who were interested in talking to them. Kirishima had someone grinding on him on the dance floor. Shinso was black out drunk and hanging over Monoma’s lap. Now that most of the people he knew from the drag scene had cleared out, he was calm and focused on the boys.

“H-Hey there,” A familiar voice stuttered. Monoma jerked his head to the side, holding his water bottle tighter to himself. Amajiki Tamaki, the Pro Hero known as Sun Eater who was two years older than him, had quietly taken a seat next to him.

“Oh, you’re that boy that was two grades above us,” Monoma loosened his grip on his water bottle, “Uh, what was your name?”

“It’s… uh, it’s… A–”

“Anamari?”

“No, it’s Ama–”

“Wait hold on, I got it! Amataki?”

“It’s…”

“Hey, Amajeeeeeeeekeeeeee!” Kaminari waved his hand in the air, slurring his speech.

“Oh! Amajiki! That’s right!” Monoma snapped his fingers.

“Why are you so… sober?” Amajiki asked him.

“Hm, you’re nosy, huh?” Monoma pursed his lips.

“Oh, uh, no! Sorry, I just… I was worried about your friends, you know?”

“My turn to be nosy. Are you gay? Is that why you came for drag?”

“I mean… I’m… I’m not straight? I don’t know what I am.”

“Hm, okay,” Monoma replied flatly, looking Amajiki up and down, “So you were here for the show?”

Amajiki nodded.

“How long have you been here tonight?”

“Since the beginning of the drag show…”

“And you’re only saying hi to me now? And why is that? Hm?”

“Hey!” Kirishima barked, “Be! Nice! Nice Monoma! Be the nice Monoma!”

“Shush! Drunk losers,” Monoma rolled his eyes, gently petting Shinso’s head as it was resting in his lap.

“So, you’re babysitting, then?” Amajiki laughed.

“It’s for my man and his friends, I’m just doing my duty,” Monoma rolled his eyes again, pointing out to Kaminari, “That one is a specific pain in my ass.”

Kaminari turned around, pointed, giggled, and then fell back into a chair.

“Ugh, I just realized what a hassle this is going to be,” Monoma groaned.

“What do you mean?”

“They all got way too sloshed. I’m going to have so much trouble getting them where they need to be. They can barely stand. I have to drive them all home.”

“I can help you get them into the car,” Amajiki offered.

“You’d do that?” Monoma smiled softly.

Amakiji returned the soft smile, “Yeah, I like helping when a friend is in need.”

“I wouldn’t exactly call us friends, eh? You’re a Class A elder.”

“You still care about all that stuff?”

Monoma pouted, “Well, if you’re offering, then I would appreciate it.”

Amajiki pulled an Octopus dumpling out of a bag. He sprouted an Octopus tentacle and wrapped it around Kirishima, Kaminari, and Sero. Monoma lifted Shinso up and steadied him, guiding him out to the car.

“Ewwwww, slimy!” Kaminari groaned.

“Shut up, you’re rude,” Kirishima said.

“No you!”

“You!”

“I said you!”

“And I said you!”

“Shut the fuck up!” Sero shouted at them, “I’m trying to sleep!”

Amajiki laughed, “Looks like you needed my help pretty badly.”

“Every single one of these Class A boys is going to hear it from me tomorrow,” Monoma grumbled.

Amajiki helped all of them into the back seat of the car. Monoma gently buckled Shinso into the passenger seat. He started to walk toward the other end of the car to get into the driver’s seat, “Thanks, you really did save me on this one.”

“Sure,” Amajiki blushed, “Hey, um, did you enjoy the show?”

“I always do!” Monoma smiled, “Those are my girls!”

Amajiki blushed harder now, “Uh, yeah, I was working up the courage all night to talk to you.”

“Oh?” Monoma crossed his arms and shifted his weight onto one hip, “And why is that, shy guy?”

Amajiki felt sweat form on his brow, “I just–! Ah! I don’t know!”

Monoma smirked, “Don’t lie to me! You’re so awkward. I see right through you.”

“Togota told me to go socialize more and I heard about this place.”

“But you said to talk to me not to talk to all of us, so why is that?”

Amajiki put his hands out and swallowed hard, “Uh, I–”

“You’re in luck. I have to get all these stupid boys home so I can’t keep grilling you. I hope I see you soon, though!”

“Oh… uh, okay.”

Kaminari yelped, “Kirishima hit me!”

“No I didn’t!” Kirishima yelled back.

“Is Shinso dead?!” Sero screamed, “He’s not moving!”

“Do you not hear him snoring?! Don't make us panic like that!” Kirishima screamed back.

Monoma narrowed his eyes, looked at Amajiki, then looked back at the car, “I’ll see you soon if I don’t murder all of those boys and go to jail.”

“I-I would pay your bail!” Amajiki awkwardly put his thumb up, instantly regretting what he said, “Oh, I mean, you know, it’s a joke, because that seemed like a funny joke, and–”

Monoma raised one eyebrow and smiled, “Good night, get home safe, shy guy.”
