Chapter Text
Alastor moved to touch Lucifer’s shoulder, but he was shoved away as the fallen angel crossed his arms with a huff.
“Don’t touch me,” Lucifer insisted.
“You’re overreacting,” Alastor pointed out. “It wasn’t as if I said I didn’t love you.” He couldn’t believe Lucifer was acting as if he’d been personally attacked. Alastor had been helping with a tour of some new guests, and Lucifer had stumbled upon them since he was wandering around the hotel that morning. Lucifer had come right over and hugged Alastor tightly, calling him his boyfriend. Alastor had instinctively pushed him off and insisted that they weren’t boyfriends. And now Lucifer was pouting.
“You could’ve said anything else, but you immediately said I’m not your boyfriend,” Lucifer complained. “I told you to help me figure out what to say. I even threw out all kinds of suggestions. You could’ve just stayed quiet if you really wanted to!”
“Lucifer, it’s hardly fair to try and capture this thing between us with a single word,” Alastor reminded.
“Thing? Now it’s a thing?” Lucifer pushed him and crawled into his bed, curling up as he huffed again.
“Lucifer, grow up,” Alastor sighed. “You get so emotional over simple words. You do know that words hold absolutely no power over anything, don’t you? I think you and I have even had that conversation at one point.” Lucifer stayed quiet as he laid on his side. “This is why I won’t deal with your tantrums. It’s fine if you are upset, and if we have to talk, then we can talk. But this childish behavior or getting upset and pushing me away while pouting on the bed is beneath you. I can’t imagine Lilith put up with it either.”
“Get out,” Lucifer snapped. He moved to throw a pillow, but a tentacle quickly sprouted from the wall and snatched every pillow and threw them on the floor. Lucifer growled as he got off the bed. He went to push Alastor harshly, but the Radio Demon grabbed his wrists. Lucifer struggled to get free with a harsh huff. Alastor pinned him to the wall and snarled at him. Lucifer growled right back, glaring at Alastor as he was held in place.
“Enough,” Alastor said firmly, his voice full of dark static. “I’m sick of your childish behavior, Lucifer. Unless you’re hoping that I’ll disappear from your life, you will stop right now.” Lucifer let out a breath and looked away as he calmed down. “I need you to listen to me, Lu. I love you. I do. Labels and words mean nothing to me when it comes to us. You’re mine. I’m yours. That’s what matters.”
“I just want something to tell other people,” Lucifer insisted. “Why is that so fucking difficult? I can’t just say we’re together. That could mean anything nowadays!” He whined as he pulled at his hands to get them free. “And you’re hurting my wrists.” Alastor let go, but he made no move to let Lucifer away from the wall. “You don’t like being called boyfriend. You won’t let me use anything else I’ve suggested. Give me something, Alastor.”
“Do you truly intend to focus on this until you have a term for us?” Alastor asked curiously. Lucifer nodded. “Very well.” The Radio Demon sighed heavily as he thought about the romantic terms he remembered from when he was alive. “Perhaps sweetheart or beau would be suitable, if you insist on this.”
“Can I use both and see which one I like better?’ Lucifer asked quickly.
“Don’t overdo it,” Alastor chuckled. “Just…keep it for those who actually ask if we’re an item, hm? You don’t need to tell the entire world about our relationship like some kind of tacky advertisement. We’re together. That’s all that matters, Lu.” He kissed his forehead before he took a step back to let him get off the wall. “Are you done with your tantrum?”
“It’s not a-“
“Are you done?” Alastor repeated before Lucifer could finish the complaint.
“Yes, I’m done,” Lucifer said, nodding slightly.
“Good, now I have an important appointment that I don’t want to miss,” Alastor said, tapping Lucifer’s nose. “You be good while I’m gone.”
“What are you going out to do?” Lucifer asked, tilting his head.
“That’s a secret,” Alastor said, putting his finger to his lips. “If anybody asks, I’m in the radio tower taking some time to myself. Understand?” Lucifer nodded. He reached for Alastor and tugged him close, kissing him softly a few times.
“Be safe,” Lucifer said between kisses. He pulled back and patted Alastor’s chest. “I mean it. No dying. No fighting either.”
“Self-defense?” Alastor mused. Lucifer narrowed his eyes. “I’ll be on my best behavior, as long as you promise to do the same while I’m out.”
“And you’re absolutely certain this has no adverse side effects?” Alastor asked as he eyed the small vial of lavender liquid in his hand, swirling it a little. It had the same consistency as whiskey.
“I would’ve have said something,” Angel pointed out as he crossed his arms. “I swiped that because you wanted something specific. You wanted to try something new with Short Stuff, yeah?” Alastor nodded. “Well, this will do the trick. You’ll both be in touch with your instincts. I can’t imagine why you’d willingly want to put yourself in a rut season with him, but you do you, Alastor.”
“It’s for Lu, not me,” Alastor clarified. “I want him to be in heat. My deer-like instincts that I keep buried to function will pick up on it in an instant.”
“It’s good thing I swiped this one then,” Angel said, pulling another small vial of liquid out. This one was a rosy-pink that seemed a bit thicker, like fresh, fruit juice. Alastor exchanged the vials and hummed to himself. “Purple is for the boys. Makes those feral desires a lot harder to ignore.”
“And you’ve decided on your payment for this favor?” Alastor asked as he pocketed the vial. “I can pull quite a few strings.”
“I…” Angel hugged himself a little with his upper arms as he looked away. “I just miss Husk a lot. Do you think you could set something up for me to see him?”
“How long?” Alastor tilted his head. “He’s bound by a deal with me, so he can’t refuse. If you wished it, I’d have him by your side without question for a good, long while.”
“Well, Val’s going out tonight to a club, so…maybe three hours?” Angel smiled a little. “There’s a place I go to be alone. Could you send him there for me?”
“Done,” Alastor gave a nod. “Address?” He conjured a small business card and a pen for Angel to scribble on. Angel wrote the address down quickly before handing the card over.
“Thank you,” Angel let out a soft breath. “You’re a lot nicer than people think.”
“Well, when I get something, I give,” Alastor shrugged. “And vice versa. Take care, would you? You’ll have your little night with Husk as you wish, but only if you show up yourself.”
“I wouldn’t miss it for the world,” Angel admitted.
“You want me to what?” Lucifer tilted his head a little as he stared at Alastor.
“I would simply like to see you as if you were a little doe,” the Radio Demon hummed. “Just for me, Lu. That’s something you can manage, yes?”
“I can do that in my sleep, but why do you want me to do that?” Lucifer questioned.
“Humor your demon, my little devil,” Alastor cooed. Lucifer rolled his eyes as he smiled.
“How much of a doe to you want me to be?” the fallen angel asked as he stepped behind his changing screen for a little privacy. “Ears, tail, hooves…anything else?”
“I wouldn’t mind that little surprise you’ve given me in the past,” Alastor mused. Lucifer blushed at that and took his time to shift into the right appearance. He hummed to himself when he finished, stepping out for Alastor to see him. He had cream-colored ears with little brown-freckles sprinkled over them nestled in his hair along with slender hooves and a matching tail on his backside. He did a small spin and looked at Alastor expectantly.
“Well?” he gestured to himself.
“Perfect,” Alastor praised. “You’re a true beauty, Luci.” He walked over to Lucifer and gently touched his ears, making them twitch against his claws. “Now, would you be willing to do another favor for me?”
“So many favors,” Lucifer teased. “I’m listening.” Alastor pulled the vial of rosy-pink liquid from his pocket and held it up. “Hm?”
“Would you drink this for me?” Alastor asked curiously. “I want to try something new with you tonight, Lucifer. If you’ll permit me, of course.”
“What does it do?” Lucifer asked as he eyed the vial. “Is it a love potion or something?”
“In a way,” Alastor chuckled. “I was curious what would happen if I caught my little doe when he was in heat.” Lucifer perked up, blushing furiously. “Aren’t you a tiny bit interested in seeing how that would go between us?” Lucifer shrugged shyly as he let out a little noise. “If you’d let me, I’d alter the room a bit as well for the illusion of truly catching you. Does that sound like something you’d like this evening?”
“It does sound kinda fun,” Lucifer admitted. Alastor took the stopper out of the vial and tipped the rim against Lucifer’s lips, slowly helping him drink the liquid. Lucifer fluttered his eyes as he felt a bit light-headed, moving to sit on the edge of the bed. “I feel a little dizzy, Alastor.”
“Rest,” the Radio Demon cooed. “I’ll get the room ready for us while you adjust.” He kissed his forehead before guiding him to lie down. Lucifer fluttered his eyes again before he closed them to relieve the dizziness he felt. He mewled softly as he relaxed himself, slowly falling asleep after a few moments.
