Chapter Text
Jimin rest his head on the dank, grody shower wall. Teeming with built up crust and clumps of hair, the humid cubicle made Jimin feel especially dirty, even as he was showering.
The only sounds emitting from the boys’ locker room was the ice cold water shutting off as Jimin ran his damp towel through his wet hair. He stepped into his shower sandals as the floor was covered with a filmy layer of things Jimin didn’t even want to begin to think about.
He tied his towel around his full hips, strolling past the blue lockers. Reaching his own, Jimin threw in the towel and reached for a semi-clean outfit. No one needed to know it hadn't been washed in maybe 2 weeks, possibly 3, but it hadn’t reached nausea-inducing smells yet so Jimin figured it was okay. He knew he needed to take better care of himself but he just couldn't muster up the drive needed to properly care for himself as he should. He also knew it was wrong to want, no crave having someone take care of him but he just couldn't do it himself. He'd much rather lay on his bed and contemplate every slightly odd thing he did that day and berate himself for it than say, do the laundry.
He pulled on a pair of generic brand boxer-briefs, a grey polyester sweatshirt and some khaki shorts. He was grateful he still had a pair of slip-ons since he didn’t seem to have any socks left.
You see, Jimin was living in his car. Now before you start thinking of something crazy; no he wasn’t an orphan, and no he wasn’t abused at home, but he did have 6 younger siblings and calling money tight was a stretch. He’d started working at 14 to help pay the bills, but it still wasn’t enough.
That seemed to be the perpetual theme of his life. The story was always the same, he was always second best. Every time he’d barely grazed first place only to shot back down to second, and be bested by the actual winner. Yet he’s always seen with a brilliant smile on his face. Isn’t it almost poetic to think a boy so surely overjoyed, is actually tearing himself apart piece by piece. It must be true then, that we only see what we want to see.
Jimin slid his arms through his dirty book bag and walked to his car. He was so very thankful to his beloved teacher, Mrs. Jeon. She knew of his situation and always left the locker rooms unlocked for him. Mrs. Jeon was a constant support in his life. She did the best she could, outside of housing him herself, providing for the homeless boy. She brought him homemade food every day at lunch and managed to have time to help him study and hang around after class.
Jimin would never let his living situations deter him from reaching his goals. Jimin wanted to become an idol. He felt as if he was born to perform, having a natural talent in dancing, moving across the stage like water floating in a river. His singing took a bit more work but every time he sang he got so lost in the song, he felt confused looking out at an empty classroom instead of a fan-filled concert.
Jimin in fact put so much of himself into everything he did, it was of no one’s surprise he lived to perform, to please. The boy was naturally submissive, constantly tending to everyone’s (younger and older) needs before his. It was due to this behavior that people often overlooked the boy, instantly assuming he would oblige by their requests. Jimin never felt used or taken advantage of because he genuinely loved pleasing and serving others. Everytime a smile was put on someone else’s face because of him, Jimin felt so incredibly happy that he had been the one to do that.
He also loved the feeling of being taken care of, as he’s known to run himself ragged performing for others. Jimin was an incredibly naive boy, believing people have no ulterior motives in their commands. With that comes his beautiful innocence, which can be seen a mile away.
Jimin started up his used, navy blue Hyundai compact car. He’d gotten it for an incredible deal from his then boss. It was a little old but Jimin was never one to complain. He drove down to his local food kitchen to help serve food to the less fortunate. He loved seeing the grateful smiles on people’s faces, even if he had to go hungry himself, it was worth it.
He pulled in to the community center’s parking lot and got out a plastic bag from the trunk. He entered the crowded hallway, greeting familiar people as he goes. Jimin set up in the back, putting on his apron and a beanie that covered his striking red hair, but before he started serving food, he dropped by the commons area to see his oldest friend Bambam.
No one knows BamBam’s real name because as a kid, when asked his name, he’d only utter two words “Bam Bam.” He’s a foreigner, so Korean isn’t his native language as shown obvious by his light accent. He was still Jimin’s best friend though, the only one he had honestly.
“Jiminie” Bambam screeched, running toward his friend. Jimin giggled, not minding the attention, as he pulled in Bambam for a tight hug. Parting from his embrace, Jimin threw an arm around Bambam’s shoulders, as Bam’s arm crept across his waist. This was easy for Jimin to do, since both he and Bam weren't (cough) the tallest people out there. They were actually quite short for boys their age; but neither really gave it a second thought. Sure Jimin acted offended or shocked when people teased him for it, but secretly he not only craved the attention, he loved the way it made him feel, small and cute. Jimin, particularly, really liked cute things.
The two boys made their way to the kitchen and got into their respective spots. As people started to line up, Jimin formed his signature smile and began to greet people.
About 2 1/2 hours had passed since he began working, yet Jimin still gave each and every person a giant smile. Jimin went behind the kitchen to bring out some more meat since they had run out, when he spotted one of the most striking boys he had ever seen.
This boy, no man, was oddly just as beautiful as he was handsome. He had raven black hair parted down the side, a long, round nose, and full, pink lips. He had such thick, masculine shoulders yet a thin frame. He donned a form fitting, long sleeved shirt, and black skinny jeans ripped at the knee, a brown leather jacket hanging off one shoulder. Though his arms were covered, Jimin couldn’t help but notice the intricate lines of black ink running up his neck, and his rounded eyes were staring fiercely at Jimin.
Jimin yelped and quickly bowed his head, a strong red flush running up his neck. He was anxious at being caught staring at the statuesque like man in front of him, everything from his stance to his gaze screamed dominance. Jimin wasn’t necessarily scared, just nervous, that this beautiful man would scream at such a pitiful creature caught looking at the likes of him.
Yet, despite his fears, the man just smiled at Jimin and ordered his food. Gulping, Jimin choked out a “yessir” and helped a large portion of meat onto the man’s tray. Though embarrassed, the young boy could never forget his manners, and flashed a small, shy smile to the perfect stranger. Unbeknownst to Jimin, that wan’t the last time he would be seeing the beautiful man.
Jin came home that day in a surprisingly good mood. He had decided to stop by the only community center in his jurisdiction to check how things were going. He had decided to eat there, to have a talk with the other people, see how life was treating them (as Jin is known to care for the people in his town), when he came across what seemed to be just an ordinary young boy.
Yet, this boy’s every movement screamed submissiveness. He’d bowed his head, a pretty flush running up his neck.
Jin found that quality to be so rare in people nowadays, especially teenagers who's every move screamed defiance and rebellion, but Jin didn’t spare the shy boy another thought as he rushed to talk to his leader RM.
Jin was in a gang called the Bulletproof Boy Scouts. It was a subdivision of the underground company of BigHit Corporation. On the surface Bight Co. was a tech company that refurbished old computers and fixed viruses, but really the company was an underground criminal chain led by Bang PD-nim. Bang PD-nim originally inherited the small gang from his father. They wren’t very violent, just mainly territorial and every gang had their own turf. It wasn’t until a neighbor gang, much bigger that his, started to continuously disrespect the territories borders thinking that Bang PD-nim’s gang was too weak to challenge them; that Bang PD-Nim’s gang struck back in a show of disturbing violence and accuracy. From that day forward, all the other small gangs in the area grew subservient to Bang PD-nim as he alone ruled over the streets of Seoul.
The police had been trying to crack down on the now giant empire for over a decade but could never evan come close to Bang PD-nim’s outer circles, that they decided to work with Bang PD-nim himself. In exchange for not busting his guys, the police would share criminal intel with Mr. Bang and he would send his guys out to finish them off. They cracked down on murderers, paedophiles, rapists, child-abusers, etc. This operation was still going on to this day, just on a much bigger scale. Now enabled with high tech devices, Bang PD-nim used viruses to trace right into perpetrators homes. He had created a special task force, so secret in fact it was only known by him. They were his most trusted men, each specially hand-picked. It was of most importance not even one other member of Bang’s gang knew of them as to never be released to the public.
