Friction (I'll be looking for your love)

Summary:

Jeon Jeongguk is set on looking for the one who got away.

or

“Don’t have too much fun in New York,” Taehyung only half jokes, hand slipping back. He ignores the way Jeongguk's warmth runs away from him.

“Alright. Bye, Tae.”

“Bye, Gukkie.”

Taehyung feels himself having trouble tearing his eyes away, a sort of emptiness taking place in his heart when Jungkook doesn’t look back.

Chapter 1: 1.0

Chapter Text

love is giving someone the ability to destroy you, but trusting them not to.

anonymous

-

Not often, does Taehyung ever get to eat dinner with Jeongguk.

The both of them are far too busy to find the time to properly indulge in eachother, though it’s evident that Taehyung misses him- feels the sharp ache deep in his chest after he ends a facetime with the other. He thinks, just maybe, he’s being selfish- never brings up the prospect or proposes a lunch together, still wishing that his boyfriend would have never accepted to take up his family’s company-

Then he kicks himself for not being happier for him. After all, he was the one that stood next to him when his best friend’s father built the now monolithic company form the ground up, against the world and all it’s hurdles. Taehyung should be happy that the torch was being passed along.

(Right?)

The only times they talk, is while Taehyung is in bed, and Jeongguk in various locations- often his penthouse or a random hotel room (the latter sends a painful sting in his chest, knowing the unspoken meaning of the taupe wallpaper).

Tonight is no exception. Taehyung is about to fall asleep, edging over consciousness and rest when his phone rings. His annoyance fades quickly into affection- brows softening as he picks up the call.

“Jungkook,” he breathes, easier this time around (he always lets Jeongguk approach him- doesn’t want to be the one that clings, never wants to burden the other).

“Taehyung,” Jeongguk’s voice plays from the phone speakers, in a dream like tone. Taehyung briefly wonders if he actually did fall asleep. He hears the smile play on the other’s lips, heart seizing painfully in his chest at the affection that stains Jeongguk’s voice (reassuring Taehyung he is wanted-),

“Where are you?” Taehyung scrambles for his headphones, throwing up blankets until they tumble from the heavy material.

“I’m at home-” Jeongguk’s voice is hushed, but loving all the same, “Were you about to sleep?” Taehyung wants to curl up into himself at hearing the undertones of love in the younger’s voice.

“Yeah,” Taehyung answers, clearing his voice. He tries not to let the excitement and happiness pierce through the warm baritone of his voice. He was admittedly, on the cusp of sleep and felt just a tinge of annoyance when his phone had suddenly rang, though that had quickly faded into soft droves of fondness.

“Sorry,” Jeongguk apologizes, though halfheartedly. Taehyung laughs- a little huff of amusement. He knows Jeongguk will tell him to sleep and then ask him to stay on the phone for another minute, before texting him a few lines when they do hang up. It’s their thing , after all.

(Like how sleeping in the same bed and seeing eachother for more than a day a week was used to be their thing .)

"You should sleep,” Jeongguk offers, steady urgence in his tone.

“You too.” Taehyung holds back a sigh- it’s been months since they’ve last seen eachother, at least properly, not through a screen or social media posts. The brunette is used to associating a kakaotalk chatroom with his boyfriend now. The floor of his chest caves with a slight tingling- he’s suddenly is hit with a prickling wave of loneliness, which is stupid. He should be used to this by now.

“Are you busy next week?” Jeongguk asks, hesitantly. Taehyung hears shuffling in the background as he relays his schedule mentally.

“Besides school and hanging out with Hoseok on friday, nothing’s really happening.” He supplies, shards of hope starting to poke at his mind.

“Can you,” Jeongguk hesitates again. Taehyung wonders, with a sudden wave of anxiety, if this could be something bad, something that could hurt him, “Can you, come, to the uh, thing?”

“The party your dad’s holding?"

“Yeah.” Taehyung’s mind dredges up the conversation Jeongguk and him had over the phone about it, ‘Friday, 7 pm,’ he remembers, unsure if his memory was correct.

“I don’t have anything to wear,” he realises.

“I don’t care about that.”

“Jeongguk.” Taehyung edges back, serious. The last thing he ever wants to do is to make the other look bad. “Everyone else will.”

Please . I miss you. It’s been a long time,” The soft longing in Jeongguk’s voice almost convinces him.

“You know how I feel about those things anyway. It’s basically a networking event disguised as a party.”

“No one will notice. Tae, please. I’ll figure something out. Just come, I can’t stand it anymore,” Jeongguk’s voice drawls with desperation. A pang rings out in Taehyung’s chest- maybe he should look into that. He’s been getting them alot, lately.

“I’ll see what I can do,” He compromises, elicting a sigh from Jeongguk.

Can you at least promise ?” The other pleads, sounding close to getting on his knees.

“Jeongguk…” A heavy pause, “Why can’t I just see you after?”’

They both know promises can be easily broken. Plans could change.

“Please.” He asks again, the insecurity in his voice foreign. Taehyung’s chest stings- he’s always been weak to Jeongguk, and now is no exception. “I don’t wanna keep you up late and I have to stay until the end because investors will be there.”

“Ok.” Taehyung answers, hating how weak willed he can be, “I promise.”

Over the line, Jeongguk exhales in relief.

“Thanks, Taehyung,” Jeongguk whispers his name like a prayer. “Go to sleep now,” he urges.

“Wait,” Taehyung says back softly. “I wanna talk to you for a bit more.”

“You’re cute.” Jungkook teases.

“No you.” The elder complains, mirth in his voice. “How are things at the office? Are you stressed?”

“A little. I miss you.”

“I know.” Taehyung answers, before adding a quick, “Me too.”

“How was the test today for… business?” on facetime, his brows furrow. “Sorry, was it statistics?”

“Uhm, both. Pop quizzes suck.” Taehyung rolls his eyes, taking the time to study his boyfriend’s surroundings. His fuzzy memories confirm his suspicions that yes , Jeongguk is indeed in his office, hunched over his cherrywood desk and looking as tired as ever now that he was barefaced and presumably running on less than an optimal amount of sleep. “You look tired,” he points out, “Why don’t you sleep?”

“Well, I wouldn’t wanna make my beautiful boyfriend lonely.” Taehyung snorts at this answer, though he’s sure that even the slightly blurry display wouldn’t be enough to hide the light flush on his visage. “Oh! I almost forgot to ask, but uhm, is it ok if I video conference your dad to have him guest lecture or answer some questions in class? I can get extra credit- but, ah, it’s okay if you can’t”

“Why not me? Are you trying to go for my dad, huh?” Jeongguk teases, “I’ll ask, though. Later.”

“Ew! Not even. That’s a big gross, Gukkie.” he cringes at the image of wooing his boyfriend’s dad, which is, bleh , to say the least. “Thanks though. I just don’t want any of my annoying classmates to hit on you or anything… It’s already enough that at least one person every other day asks me for your number.”

“Well, I was named bachelor of the year,” Jeongguk grins. “Little do they know.”

The banter goes on for a while, night bleeding into early day, and Taehyung can feel his stress lightening with every word they exchange- it’s almost scary how quickly one person could ease his heavy mood into bubbly happiness.

“I have to go.” Jeongguk says, at 10 to 1, annoyance and frustration in his tone.

“It’s fine.” Taehyung briefly wonders where Jeongguk could be at this hour, what could he be busy with at 12, edging on 1 AM? The thought bleeds into his mind, before the other waves it away. “Good night, Gukkie.” He bids softly, receiving a soft, “Night, Tae,” in return.

The weekdays smear together, smudging study sessions and quick lunches in a blur of stress, and the plans he makes with Jeongguk are forgotten until the calendar on his phone alarm notifies him on Thursday.

Taehyung pulls his attention away from his phone, eyes looking at the off white pages of his text book. He’s a paragraph in when he decides it’s been enough studying for today (even though he just opened his book a few minutes ago, but can you blame him? Being a fashion major is hard).

He’s browsing on the snapchat discover stories when he gets a text from Jeongguk, unable to restrain himself from clicking on the notification immediately.

Taehyung watches the read notification pop up, before putting his phone down, knowing Jeongguk wouldn’t reply anytime soon. The feeling of hunger steeps into his stomach, making him get up.

He’s running out of cup noodles- so today he decides on a TV dinner that will no doubt come out watery.

Taehyung waits out Thursday.

-

Taehyung had never liked stuffy gala type events. It’s the only reason he doesn’t accompany Jeongguk to them more often- usually feeling just a bit foreign and out of place on the expensive floors. His eyes scan the crowd for the 5th time, not finding Jeongguk anywhere.

to: Jeon ♡

Where are you? im at the front entrance

By the roses

from: Jeon ♡

ill get you

Taehyung had a habit of keeping his eyes on his phone, pretending to be busy, and tonight was no exception. He barely registered the arms snaking around his waist, before he was pulled back roughly.

The brunette almost yelled in alarm, relaxing when he turned around.

“You scared me, asshole.” He muttered, hands going up to cup his face, only to squish at his cheeks in vengeance. Another reason why he didn’t like black tie events: he couldn’t openly show affection to the other. Taehyung settled for cupping the other’s cheeks, skin tingling where Jeongguk touched him just seconds ago.

“Sorry,” Jeongguk replied, letting Taehyung turn around fully. He kept a loose arm around his shoulders, eyes glinting with raw love and mirth.

“How is the thing so far?” Taehyung asked, hands itching to card through Jeongguk’s hair- instead settling for brushing his fingers against the nape of his neck. He wondered what this could look like to the many watching spectators- maybe a friendly bout of greeting between two friends? A hyung welcoming his invited guest? It’s a thought he pores over in his spare time, when he can’t keep hitchhiking thoughts of his lover out of his already cluttered head.

“Ok, I guess,” Jeongguk let his head fall onto Taehyung’s shoulder, breathing in his scent and dropping his hands to squeeze the other’s waist gently. The contact only lasted for a brief moment, jilting Taehyung in surprise, before his boyfriend’s roaming hands moved to grip at his forearms. “I missed you.” The words carried a soft, intimate tone, so low that only the two can hear.

Jeongguk never failed to send Taehyung’s heart into a lurching mess.

“I missed you too,” Taehyung smiled, fond and comfortable, though it’s broken as fast as it started. He feels a wash of cold on his back- subtle and unwelcome, something akin to ice being put down the back of his shirt. The elder cranes his head around- cheeks heating in embarrassment at the sight. He tries to gently, nudge off Jeongguk, who is now leaning against him, all bear hugs and clingy arms (Taehyung wonders if his childish boyfriend is really only a year older).

The younger finally peeks up, intense eyes clouded with annoyance (who the fuck was disturbing their time together, even if they were in public?), before being wiped away with indifference.

“Hi dad,” Jungkook straightened up, still keeping an arm around Taehyung’s waist (whose heart swells at how it feels so natural).

“Hello Mr. Kim,” Taehyung flusters, a flush of pride running through him when he doesn’t stutter. He bows, making Jungkook’s arm fall back to his side (he pretends not to want to put it back). His eyes flicker to the woman who stands beside Jungkook’s father- tall and young. It’s not his mother, making Taehyung thankful he met Jungkook’s parents before.

“This is Chou Tzuyu, we might have her be the new spokesperson for Lucioiule.” Mr. Kim smiled, tight warmth in his expression. Taehyung refrained from fidgeting, or at least, waiting to the side as Jungkook introduced himself.

Tzuyu is pretty, and she’s about the same age as Jungkook. The slit in her dress shows off her long, lean legs, and makes Taehyung want to go and jump into a potato sack (which is what he feels like compared to her).

He has half a mind to snatch away Jungkook and keep him all to himself-

but he doesn't.

Instead, he settled for playing with the cuffs of his suit. It’s only about 5 minutes of obligated introductions before Taehyung graciously lets himself be pulled along to another area of the event, Jeongguk leading him with a grip on his arm.

“Tae.”

“Hm?"

“Let’s go to a balcony or something.”

“Are you sure?” Taehyung glanced back at the pair, earning a gentle hand on the space between his shoulderblades. It wasn’t like he could protest that much though, seeing as how the older was herding him off anyway.

“I haven’t seen you in forever. It can wait.” Jeongguk assured softly, making Taehyung’s chest bloom in warmth. It was always nice to know when your partner valued you more than anyone else, especially if the anyone else was a pretty girl his father wanted to introduce.

“I almost thought you wouldn’t come.” He muttered, before they’re stopped. Taehyung looks at the sudden intrusion, wanting to snap in annoyance when he sees it's the woman again.

“Your dad wants to talk more.” She said sweetly, honey dripping off her lips. It actually sounds genuine- like she hasn’t caught on and is just following instructions. Taehyung faltered when Jungkook glances at him.

“Ok,” he said, a bit apologetic when he looks at Taehyung. The elder watches as Chaeyoung leads him away, heart dropping to the floor, right in the space between his shoes, when Jungkook doesn’t look back.

Oh.

-

The cold evening air brushed against Taehyung’s cheekbones.

He’s texting Hoseok. The dancer is live texting a certain tragic pixar movie, and according to his messages, is close to bawling his eyes out.

They should’ve been watching “Up” today, but he cancelled for Jeongguk, who isn’t even here right now, messing around with some other woman. Taehyung sighs, regretting the thought that flashed in his head (it sounds so dramatic, and not at all like his boyfriend). He lets his head lean down on his forearms, feeling the cold balcony ledge seep through his layered sleeves.

“There you are,” Jeongguk spoke, making Taehyung smile into his sleeve. “I thought I’d never find you.”

(It's dangerous, how one person can control his emotions like this).

“I was behind curtain number 1.” Taehyung mumbled, in a lame attempt at a joke.

Jeongguk laughed- whether genuinely or out of pity, he couldn’t tell.

“Tae,” Jeongguk stepped to his side, knuckles brushing against the soft brown hair on the other’s head, tenderly, so carefully, that Taehyung looks up, “I have to go on a business trip.”

He sobers up. The cold wind breezes past the two- suddenly so frigid and uninviting instead of calming and friendly.

“Where?” He asked, not letting the desperate hope that it’s not somewhere too far seep into his voice.

He fails.

“America. And France for sure, China too,” Jeongguk listed hesitantly, slipping his arms around the other’s waist. His chest is firm against the younger’s back, protective and utterly safe .

Taehyung felt sick.

“We already never see eachother,” He muttered, resting his hands on Jungkook’s biceps. The older anchored him, but he feels the sting of tears in his eyes anyway. He knows he’s overreacting, but Taehyung doesn’t think he can afford to lose anymore of the little contact he has with Jeongguk. They can barely keep up with eachother in the same timezone, much less hours and thousands of miles away. “It’s not fair, you’ve never gone that far before.”

“I know, but it’s only for a while.” Jeongguk almost pleads, for what, Taehyung doesn’t know. How badly he wants to uproot the other and make sure they can never be apart- but he knows Taehyung has a life of his own. “And this can be like, you can get used to it for next time…”

The brown haired man looks down. He doesn’t respond- only pressing plush lips into a thin, tense line.

“I’ll call everyday,” He insisted, after a pregnant pause, trying to ease the loneliness they’re both already feeling. Taehyung shakes his head, striking Jeongguk’s heart with anxiety.

“It’s fine. I’ll be fine.” Taehyung’s smile is strained- his voice is strained- it breaks Jeongguk’s heart.

“Tae, you know I would stay or take you with me if I could,” Jeongguk presses a kiss to his temple, quelling the insistent whisper in the back of his head to just, fuck it, bring him with you.

“I know,” Taehyung nodded, smiling a bit more brighter. The older man feels his shoulders slump in relief, not knowing he was so tense in the first place.

“I’ll call everyday,” he said again, “And I’ll make sure to get you things.”

“You barely call when we’re in the same country,” the other joked. The words leave a bitter, toxic sting in Jeongguk’s chest, making his mind cloud with guilt.

“I know, I’m sorry baby,” Jeongguk replied, holding Taehyung flush against him. He turns him around and pressed their lips together in an apology. Taehyung’s lips are pliant under his, making Jeongguk’s nerves flare with pleasure, satisfaction. He’d missed these soft lips as much as the owner. He sighed, gently working his lips against Taehyung’s. There’s a sort of deprivation when Jungkook starts to get more firm, lapping at his lips like the younger is an oasis in the middle of the desert. Taehyung pulls away, too sudden, too soon.

“Not here,” he whispered softly, lips slightly swollen and wet. Jeongguk swelled with pride, looking at his handiwork.

“Then where?” He asked, peppering kisses on his cheeks, along his jaw, just enough to satiate his want for now.

“We might get caught,” Taehyung whined, squirming a bit. Jeongguk took this as invitation to blow a raspberry in the junction of his boyfriend’s neck and shoulder, making the other laugh and push him away in protest.

“Okay,” He settled for gazing into Taehyung’s eyes. Their faces were awash in the soft illuminating glow of the moonlight, and the light coming from inside, shining through the thin curtains. His chest ached with longing, and a ring of sheer love he has for the man he held in his arms.

“I love you,” Jeongguk whispered, smiling at the flush that spills over Taehyung’s cheeks after.

“I love you too.” Taehyung said, softer, a bit more hesitantly, but a declaration all the same. They both breathe a bit easier.

“When are you leaving?” He asked, after a beat of silence.

“Tomorrow. Will you see me off?”

“Jungkook,” Taehyung tried to pull away, but under no circumstances can that happen. Jeongguk kept a firm hold on his waist. “How long did you know?”

“A few weeks,” he confessed, seeing Taehyung’s eyes flash with something akin to hurt.

“You didn’t tell me?”

“There wasn’t a good time.”

“Guk.”

“I’ve been busy,” He scrambled, feeling Taehyung gently push at his arms. Panic is starting to set in, though it’s overreactive, he doesn’t want to let his lover go in the little time they have for eachother.

“I think I should go.”

“No!” Jeongguk almost shouted, holding him tight even as Taehyung pressed him away. “Don’t. I’m sorry.”

“Gukkie,” Taehyung tried. The nickname plucks at the other’s heartstrings. The older felt the vibrations of Taehyung’s voice run through his chest, warming his body in the cold air.

“I’ll be back for our anniversary,” Jeongguk promised, knowing it’s one he might not be able to keep.

“Ok,” Taehyung smiled, making his heart seize up. The trust that he gives to Jeongguk, it makes him feel both elated and guilty at the same time. A funny oxymoron.

“You’re so great,” Jeongguk said.

“I don’t know if I can see you off,” he changed the topic, his words making the man falter.

“Just stay the night. I’m in the hotel near here.”

“The Hyatt?” Taehyung asked, eyes wide. He’s only surprised because he can’t imagine himself staying in such a place, all too used to his boyfriend being the one in luxury commodes.

“Do you like it? I can book another hotel if you want-”

“No, it’s fine, I just- I just don’t know if we can… stay together.”

“Tae.. just one night.” Jeongguk massaged circles in the other’s hips, in what he hopes is soothing. There’s a few breaths of silence, Jeongguk looking on hopefully.

“I-I don’t know. What if one of us gets caught?”

“I don’t care.” He insists. “I miss you so much…”

“I do too.”

“Then stay with me.”

“Gguk.”

“Please. I’ll make sure no one follows us out and I can even go in separately-”

“Fine. Ok.”

The older almost jumped Taehyung in joy, before a ringtone interrupts the romantic air.

“Who is that?” The older asked, curious, fingers twitching when he catches a glance at the display name on Taehyung’s phone.

“Friend.” He answered the call, face blooming in a smile. Jungkook grimaced, brows knitted together as he watched Taehyung answer the call.

Within a second there’s a waling coming from the speaker, something about a dog and an old guy, before Taehyung is laughing, calming his apparently distressed friend down over the line.

After what feels like forever (Is really only 7 minutes, give or take), Taehyung hangs up and Jeongguk latches back on immediately, nuzzling at the man’s neck affectionately.

“Geez, you’re like a big dog,” Taehyung complained , though it’s not really out of annoyance. He feels Jeongguk laugh into his suit jacket mumbling something about needing a “Taehyung charge. Mine is all used up.”

“So how do you know this Hoseok guy?” He asked, round eyes inquisitive. With the question, his head pops up, making it so their noses are barely not touching.

“He was my project partner for literature but he’s friends with Jimin so we hang out.” Taehyung recounted, pressing a cheeky kiss to the corner of Jeongguk’s lips.

“He sounds nice.” His worries are quelled for now, but the name “ Hoseok ” is tucked away in his head in a box labelled caution .

-

3 hours.

3 hours is how long Taehyung spent in his suit- half that time away from Jeongguk, who had more things to attend to with Tzuyu and his parents.

The other half is spent on his phone, until it dies and he’s forced to go scrounge around for his boyfriend. He finds Tzuyu hanging off Jeongguk’s arm in a way that leaves a lingering sourness in his throat.

“My phone died,” he explained, a bit annoyed. He barely registered how Jeongguk brightened when he saw the younger, but it makes his ego swell.

“Oh-” Jeongguk spares a glance to the woman at his side, not knowing what to do.

“I think I should just go home, I don’t have my overnight bag anyway,” Taehyung bit his lip, a bit disappointed, but he doesn’t want to impose on whatever Jungkook was doing with Tzuyu, and whatever his parents had planned for the two of them for the rest of the night.

“Tae-” Jeongguk started, almost ready to steal away Taehyung from whatever plans he had that night (i.e. sleeping). The months they spent apart destroyed his self control, evident in the hair trigger reactions he was having.

“I’ll still see you off,” Taehyung started, “It’s just easier this way. Didn’t you say there were investors coming, too?” There’s a beat of silence, Jeongguk’s eyes hard with determination.

“Taehyung,” He started, pulling his arm out of the woman’s grip.

“Don’t worry,” Taehyung promised, uneasy. “Can I use your phone? I called an uber here.”

At this, Jeongguk doesn’t make a move to get his phone, which makes Taehyung frown a little, the corners of his mouth twitching down and brows furrowing in confusion.

“No,” he answered, “There’s no reason we can’t… hang out tonight. It’s been so long, and most of them are already here- not to mention I’ve talked to them already,” Jeongguk rattled off. “I have a spare toothbrush. And you can just wear my clothes.”

Taehyung’s gaze flicks behind Jungkook, who is speaking in a hushed tone, much to the elder’s relief. There’s no one who looks like they’re eavesdropping, but Tzuyu’s eyes hold an almost knowing glint.

“I don’t-”

“Tae.” There’s a soft squeeze at his biceps. Something about this feels vaguely wrong.

“O-Ok,” the syllables leave his mouth, hesitant and without his permission.

Jeongguk doesn’t leave his side for the rest of the night.

-

It’s almost 11 when Taehyung spills over onto the expensive sheets in the hotel room. He feels the mattress dip when Jeongguk takes a seat next to his starfish body.

“Did you plan on me staying? The bed is big.” Taehyung questioned, worming over to lay his head on Jeongguk’s lap.

“My dad ordered it.” A few moments of combing his fingers through Taehyung’s soft hair pass, before he speaks up again.

“Do you wanna shower?”

“It’s late.”

“And?”

“You have to leave early tomorrow.”

“My plane leaves at 9.”

He perked in interest.

“Ok. I’ll dry your hair,” Taehyung tried to fight a smile, but he’s always been bad at hiding his emotions.

The water hits the tub, clear in the glass of the bath. Jungkook insists on taking a bath ( “My mom got these bath bombs from lush and you’d like them,” he says, and Taehyung can’t help but agree), so the two are waiting for the water to fill up the tub.

Taehyung thinks his favourite thing in the world would be leaning against Jeongguk’s chest- it’s firm and warm. He likes feeling the steady rhythm of his heartbeat on his back, as his voice bounces off the walls of his chest.

“I missed you so much,” he hears being muttered against his skin, Jeongguk’s breath warm.

“I missed you too.” Taehyung intertwined their fingers, chest blooming in affection when he noticed how perfectly they fit together.

“I’m sorry for acting so batshit today. And not telling you about the trip.” Jeongguk goes on earnestly.

Taehyung allowed himself to close his eyes, the comforting warmth radiating from the other doing wonders for the stress he had built up from juggling schoolwork, a social life and volunteering.

“Don’t worry. I think I overreacted,” Taehyung nestled a bit closer, sighing as Jungkook nuzzles against his hair. He’s only a few more minutes away from melting into a puddle, before Jeongguk nudges Taehyung up.

“I think the bath is ready,” Jungkook calls, voice bouncing off the tiles. Taehyung follows the other into the spacious restroom, stripping quickly. He set his clothes in a pile on the closed toilet seat, waiting for Jungkook to do the same.

“I haven’t taken a real bath in forever,” Taehyung breathed out, feeling the hot water seep into his muscles. He shifted to let Jeongguk settle behind him, who pulls Taehyung flush against his chest.

“I saw this at some mall and I thought you’d like it.” He muttered, a bit embarrassed. He unravelled the white paper, lowering the packed, powdery white heart into the water.

“It smells nice.” Taehyung wanted to nod off- but he can’t afford to spend time with his busy boyfriend just sleeping . Hell no.

“It has roses in it. Or rose petals. I can’t remember,” The calm baritone of Jeongguk’s voice leaving goosebumps on the back of Taehyung’s neck. He barely registers the other crumbling up the wrapper and throwing it somewhere, as he closes his eyes. The low fizz of the bomb blends in with Jeongguk’s steady breathing, the younger feeling petals brush against his tan skin.

“You’re sweet,” Taehyung muttered, turning around. He crossed his legs, knees brushing against the now warm glass of the tub. He leaned forward, pressing a soft kiss to Jungkook’s plush lips.

“Tae..” He hears the murmur of his name on the other’s lips, feeling himself being pulled onto the other’s lap. Around his bellybutton, the water laps up his skin, shifting to accommodate their movements. The brown haired male can already feel himself getting sore in the cramped space, the scent of lavender and roses helping to alleviate the discomfort. The water, now silky and slightly glimmery, works at their skin with every move, the light splashes echoing into the spacious bathroom.

Jeongguk tilted his head a bit, lapping up Taehyung’s groan when he ran a hand down his soft back.

“Tonight?” He asked, mouthing along the elder’s neck, placing small, barely noticeable marks. Taehyung’s breath is already picking up in his arms, the man clutching at his shoulders.

“Please,” He muttered, rolling his hips.

“Here?”

“Anywhere,” Taehyung answered, “Keep going.” Jeongguk let his hands roam, memorising every dip and curve, how the other’s skin feels under his fingers.

“I wanna let everyone know you’re mine, baby. You’re so beautiful,” Jungkook murmured, before working at the curve of his neck. He leaves a hickey, a fresh red as he pulls away.

“G-Guk,” Taehyung gasped, arms slowly wrapping around his neck.

“I wanna treat you so well tonight, baby, let you know how much I love you,” Jungkook whispered, tender and genuine as he presses a kiss to his warm, slightly damp cheeks. The steam does things to Taehyung’s skin- making it flush beautifully.

“A-ah..” Taehyung’s voice is edging on whiny, and airy. Jeongguk grabbed at his thighs, kneading the inside of them a bit roughly. The other has lost a little weight, He notices.

“Baby, have you been eating?” Jeongguk asked, helping Taehyung up on the ledge of the tub. The other nods, eyes crowded with lust. The younger is skeptical, and ponders if he actually is eating healthy, before getting up and grabbing the massage oil out of the toiletries basket on the sink.

“I don’t have any lube,” Jungkook rubs a bit of the oil on his hands, quickly warming it up before he presses it to the small of Taehyung’s back.

“G-Gukkie-” Taehyung stuttered, gasping when said man starts kneading his tense back. The older is still in the water, one hand working at the knots in his lover’s back, the other wrapped around his cock. One of the other’s hands goes down to rest at the back of Jeongguk’s head, wetting the hair there slightly. Breathy fuck s and airy variations of Jeongguk’s name escape his lips, filling his ears like it's the only thing he’ll ever hear again, which he didn’t mind as much as he should.

“You’re so pretty like this,” Jeongguk spoke quietly, marking the inside of Taehyung’s thighs. He pools more oil into his hands, working the warm slick into the other’s skin, tugging him back down into the water. Jungkook’s hand is back at Taehyung’s cock, working it slowly under the water.

He felt Taehyung reach down, flicking his wrist as he gripped the other in return.

“F-Fuck, Tae, you’re so good,” He groaned, hips bucking up, making the water splash against the wall.

“Guk, I want you, please,” He thrusted shallowly into Jeongguk’s hand, “Oh god, please, Jeongguk,” one arm goes to wrap around the other’s neck, bodies slightly slick with oil that transferred between them. The older speeds up his pumping, thrusting up into Taehyung’s hand.

“A-Ah, shit, I’m so close, make me cum Guk, fuckfuckfuck,” Taehyung muttered delirously, head tipped back.

“Yeah, fuck, me too, cum for me Tae, fuck,” He cursed, feeling Taehyung go limp in his lap. Jeongguk desperately rut up into Taehyung’s hand, which had sped up, holding the younger tight as he reached the height of his orgasm.

“Fuck, the waters kinda cold.” Taehyung hissed, breath heavy as he clung onto Jeongguk.

“Yeah, hold on.” Jeongguk shakes off his hand in the water, pressing a kiss to Taehyung’s collarbone before letting him get up.

“Wait, lemme get clothes.” Jungkook grabbed a towel, wrapping it quickly around his waist in search of lounge clothes for them. The first thing he sees is a tee shirt and a pair of basketball shorts, which he grabs for his waiting partner, and he retrieves a tank top and boxers for himself.

“How much is it for one night?” Taehyung asks when he gets back, taking Jeongguk by surprise.

“I think it’s 200.” He tried to recall, almost hugging Taehyung before remembering he is literally dripping. He started to rub himself down, watching Taehyung do the same.

“This might be the most expensive place we’ve ever had sex.” Taehyung banters, smiling, moving so he could towel off Jeongguk’s hair.

“Try the private jet last summer.” the older smiled, pressing a kiss to Taehyung’s cheek. He’s absolutely glowing in the diffused white light, and looks good even in a pair of sweats.

“I forget how rich you are.” He said dismissively, making Jungkook smile. He’s always sure that Taehyung isn’t with him for the money, and now is one of those times he knows for certain.

“You’re tired. Let’s sleep, are you hungry?” He’s now fully dressed, walking out the restroom with Taehyung following.

“I ate a bit at the party.” Taehyung replied, sitting on the bed. Jeongguk leaned on him, making the younger fall back until they both laid on the bed.

“They don’t serve real food.” He pointed out, tracing their initials encapsulated in a heart on the sheets next to Taehyung’s head.

“I’m fine. We can just get breakfast tomorrow anyway.” Taehyung assured, fingers combing through Jeongguk’s damp hair. “I feel like you’re my mom, or something. I always eat better with you.”

“Ok.” Jeongguk quieted down, rolling over and adjusting himself so Taehyung could lay next to him. He presses the light switch, room flashing dark before Jeongguk fumbled around and switched on the lamp. “Well, I like taking care of you.”

“Night, Tae.” He whispered, snuggling back down.

“Night, Gukkie.”

Jungkook pretends they aren’t in a hotel, but maybe in a bedroom of their own- it’s a hopeful, stupid wish, but one that he thinks about during the restless nights, when he can't sleep, lets it bleed into his idle thoughts when he spares a moment of rest.

He falls asleep at 2.
