Chapter Text
Finally, after mangling two infants for a week, Hua Sheng's parents were set to arrive in an hour. Wen Lang had instructed his staff to ensure that they know nothing about Lele or the omega lying in coma in the bedroom next door to his. They agreed to stay quiet and that all would be well while he dealt with his cousin.
When the parents finally arrived, Shao You sat down on the insistence of Wen Lang so could hold his baby by himself.
Wen Lang settled across the couple as they sat greeting their son. After a few minutes he asked "do you guys have your home prepared with all the baby necessity?"
Hua Yong looked up at him and replied "yeah we do. The nursery is ready with everything we might need."
Wen Lang nodded. He stood up to call Chang Yu inside while bringing forth a tray of tea for his guests. When Chang Yu arrived, Wen Lang opened his fridge and said "the first two shelves of food is pre packed per meal. Take it to their home. They won't have time for cooking during the first week as they adjust."
Chang Yu bowed gratefully and started transferring things. An hour later, the new family finally decided to leave. Wen Lang offered "if you need me for anything, anytime, don't hesitate."
They nodded in thanks and the new family of three went their own way.
Wen Lang went to his own bedroom to check on his own son, who was sleeping on his bed as they practiced co sleeping, and then went to see his baby mama. Holding his hand, he murmured "Tutu, I am happy for A-Yong. Really happy for him. He got his happy ending after all. The man he was pining after for so long, a baby with the said man, and a settled love life. When you wake up, do you think you could forgive me? Like ever? Or would you take Lele and move away again?"
Sighing he wished a wake up soon and went back to his office.
One fine morning, six months into caring for Gao Tu, the doctor said to Wen Lang "he hasn't made any noticeable progress in last six months. Maybe you should take him off life support."
Wen Lang was so enraged he immediately threw the doctor out of his home and requested another one.
By that point of time he was so done being the babysitter for his cousin, he drafted a contract to buy back all the shares that Hua Yong held in his company. When he presented the same to the couple, they were perplexed.
Wen Lang explained "you get your babysitter and I get complete autonomy over my company."
Having no defense against it, Hua Yong signed the contract, returning all the shares to Wen Lang.
Soon it was Lele's first birthday and Gao Tu had still not woken up.
Even though he had been through one heat that was so random that nobody was prepared. Wen Lang had to seal the door shut with pheromone dispenser so it would not induce his own run. He had asked that no staff visit his best friend during that time. After the heat had receeded, Wen Lang was the first one to visit him. He washed him with sponge, changed his bedding, and changed the clothes containing his own scent to the new ones.
Wen Lang had asked A-Yong if he could babysit Peanut for the weekend without disclosing the fact that he was going to celebrate his own son's first birthday. It went as well as anyone could expect. Wen Lang made the staff take a picture of his little family. Then he let the toddlers play as he prepared their meal. He had arranged for a cake to be cut but when there's two babies and one adult, not much can be taken care of. The cake was demolished more than devoured.
A month and a half later it was Peanut's first birthday. Wen Lang visited with a gift for the birthday boy but received something much more precious in return. Peanut had spoken his first words during cake cutting and it was "Lele."
The couple turned to him inquisitive as if he had the answers, which he actually did, but he gave a polite smile and excused himself.
Next morning found him offering tea to his guests as he tried to explain the existence of Lele. He still did not disclose that Gao Tu was the mother, he was in coma and resting in his home, or that Lele was his own blood. He just said that Lele was his son.
Though he did introduce them to Lele, he politely asked them to keep distance from the baby as the baby was not very social.
It had been four years to that.
The babies grew up to be notorious toddlers, always upto something. They were still found at Wen Lang's house more often than anywhere else. Though they were enrolled in playschool, their favorite place remained beside daddy Wen Lang.
Gao Tu had still not woken up, though his hormones had now regulated enough that he had regular heats every quarter. The doctors said that this was better than nothing because toxicity level in hormones were so high, they had lost hope that he would ever go in heat again.
Lele was turning five and the celebration was in full swing. His friends from playschool were set to arrive in half an hour. He already enjoyed with them in school in first half and now he would get to play with them again. Wonders of being the birthday boy!
Wen Lang had left no stone unturned to ensure that his son felt happy and satisfied. As was the ritual, Wen Lang took Lele to his room before the party began to make him talk to his mama.
As Lele took hold of his mama's hand and started saying whatever he wanted to he felt a squeeze on his hand. He stopped mid sentence, looked at his hand, and then turned to his daddy, whispering "daddy, mama squeezed my hand."
Wen Lang immediately moved from his place by the door and held Gao Tu's hand over his son's. He wished "Tutu can you hear me? Our son is turning five today. Give us a gift by waking up Tutu."
And he felt the squeeze too. That's when he noticed the minor upbeat change in the heart beat which had been stable for past five years.
Ushering his son son outside, he immediately called for the doctors. He even sent his jet to ensure that the V country doctors could be transported here in time. At the same time he asked his son "Lele, come get daddy when it's time to cut the cake. For now, you go enjoy your party while daddy ensures that mama is all right. Don't tell anyone okay?"
The sweet little soul promised to keep the secret and went back to his own party.
The team of doctors arrived hurriedly, rushing to Gao Tu's room. They conducted many many check ups on him and in the middle of those, his eyes fluttered. They all stood awaiting as they watched him try to open his eyes.
When he finally did so, Wen Lang broke down by his side, on the bed, while the doctors started asking him a few questions to ensure that he was mentally stable.
It was figured out that he remembered who he was but his mind stayed in the past, before his collapse. They informed him that they were five years in the future, there was remarkable change in his hormones, and that he would require physiotherapy to get back on his feet but it was possible. Then they went away.
That's when Gao Tu felt someone still clutching his other hand. He looked at the person and his heart beat immediately rose as he murmured "Wen Lang?"
Wen Lang gave him a teary smile and whispered "welcome back Tutu. We had waited for you for so long."
"We?" Questioned Gao Tu.
Wen Lang explained "after you ran away, I tried my best to find you but you really hid very well. One fine evening I received a call from a hospital in V country that I was your emergency contact and they immediately needed my presence for further procedures. They informed me that you are an omega, a heavily pregnant one, with no alpha by your side, and that I needed to decide what to do. I did ask you but you were unresponsive so I asked them to operate on you and save the child while putting you on life support."
"They asked me to sign the guardianship documents but I knew the limitations of it so I asked them if I could sign the parent one instead. They agreed but conducted a blood test to attach on the certificate. That's when I was informed that it was my child. Then I brought the two of you here. This is your room, mine is attached to this one."
He finished with "our son is named Lele. Shen Gao Lele. He is turning five today. You are the best gift he could ever get."
It took Gao Tu a long time to digest all of the things that were explained to him just now. He was confused that Wen Lang had so easily accepted his status of an Omega, he had inserted his own name in their son's name. He had been taking care of their son alone till now. He had also been taking care of all of Gao Tu's needs all alone. Just as his musings were coming to an end, a little voice peeped "daddy, its time to cut the cake."
Wen Lang smiled and extended a hand outward, beaconing the child towards himself. Caging the little one in his arms he said "Lele, mama woke up from his sleep. Would you like to say something?"
Lele thought for a minute, then asked "mama you slept so long, was your dream that good?"
Both the parents laughed hearing the question filled with his innocence. Gao Tu nodded "mama was very tired baby. Sorry for sleeping for so long. Happy Birthday Lele. Mama is sorry mama wasn't there for last five years."
Lele shrugged "thank you mama. And it's okay. Daddy told me that you used to work very hard that's why you need to sleep so much. And we talked to you everyday mama so all good."
Gao Tu smiled at the undisguised forgiveness. He said "you raised our son really well, Wen Lang. Go cut the cake baby, we can talk later."
Both the father-son duo nodded, and marched out after ensuring he was okay to be left alone.
That night after the party wrapped up, the family sat with each other for hours, retelling as many things as they could without overwhelming the still bed ridden member of their family.
After months of rigorous physiotherapy, where Gao Tu was really really glad to have Wen Lang by his side, Gao Tu was finally ready to be back in society. First step, being introduced to Lele's cousin.
It came to him as a surprise that Hua Yong and Wen Lang were cousins. This solved many mysteries of the past that he dared not reveal to anybody.
When he finally stepped back in the corporate world as Chief Secretary of Wen Lang, it was announced to the world that they were also mated and married with a six year old and another on the way.
