“You two are quite cute, Ruby,” Pyrrha commented one day during training, dodging Ruby’s scythe just barely. “Thanks, Pyr!” Ruby chirped, swinging her weapon back to block Pyrrha’s follow-up attack.
Team JNPR was the second group of people to find out about their relationship, having walked into Blake and Ruby napping in the library while Yang drew on their faces and Weiss kept her face stuck in a book.
It had taken a while to calm down Nora afterwards, who had jumped all over the couple with invasive questions and eager looks to find out more about them. It took both Pyrrha and Ren to pry her away from them and get her to calm down, the rest of the group having given their congratulations while Nora tried wiggling out of their grip.
Feeling the air knocked out of her lungs her mind came reeling back into the present. While Ruby had been successful in blocking the attack, she hadn’t taken the impact as well as she had thought she did and ended up smacking into the wall.
“Ow~” Ruby moaned, holding her head as the world spun.
“I’m sorry!” Pyrrha called out jogging towards the younger huntress only to be waved away.
“You’re good, I’m fine.” She reassured, getting up to her feet before the world went black.
“Ruby-? Baby?” A familiar voice coaxed her awake. Eyes opening slightly Ruby saw her girlfriend’s worrying eyes on her. “Blakey?” Ruby groaned out, eyes falling shut again.
“Nuh-uh, stay awake for me Ruby.” Blake protested shaking her slightly, her other hand pressing the school nurse's button.
Ruby’s throat felt very dry. “What happened?”
“Pyrrha.”
“Ah.” That made sense.
“You’re okay though, just a bit drained since your aura had already dropped pretty low,” Blake whispered smoothing Ruby’s hair down. Ruby laughed lightly, “curse my weak human body.” Blake smiled softly, “you’re anything but weak, Ruby.”
“I know,” Ruby answered opening her eyes to meet Blake’s gaze.
Blake huffed, “conceited little thing aren’t you?”
Ruby grinned at her before she realized the rest of their team wasn’t there.
“Where’s Yang and Weiss?”
“Yang confessed so I think they’re making out right about now.”
Blake’s smile turned smug and Ruby blinked in surprise, "no way you’re lying, Blakey!”
The Faunus shook her head, “I’m not, Ruby. I promise it happened just an hour ago-”
Ruby’s face turned into confusion, “wait how long was I out?”
“About 5 hours?” Blake said, equally as confused.
“What time is it!?” Ruby asked, panicked.
“Nine.” Blake frowned, still not understanding where the conversation was going.
“Aggh Blake! We were supposed to go see your favorite author today!” Ruby whined, looking very upset, lip jutting out.
Blake’s shoulder shook, her left hand covering her mouth and Ruby whined even more.
“Don’t laugh, Blakey!”
“God I love you, Ruby,” Blake said breathlessly.
“Blakey! Mmpf-” Blake silenced her with a kiss.
