“I presume that you’re the good alpha in this scenario?” Aerion steps towards him. Dunk feels like prey being stalked.
“I should like the chance to try,” Dunk replies, testy. “You may even enjoy it.”
Aerion is a few paces away, now. His scent makes Dunk’s head swim. “You wouldn’t know how to handle me if I walked you through every single touch.”
or: Aerion needs an alpha to get him through his heat. Dunk is the guy for the job. No, literally. It’s on his resume.

Summary
"No, my prince. You are fussing over me," His Valarr goes beautifully red in the face, "Like a father."
The words make him feel heady and he wonders if the pretty Omega boy knew just who he was talking to—Baelor Targaryen belonged to the House of the Dragon, blood married blood and such unions brought forth relations that made the rest of the realm sour. Something in him purrs in delight at making the usually stone-faced Omega flush and he whispers lowly, "If you were my son, I would not let you take a single step out of the Red Keep without my sigil collar on your neck."
Valarr Targaryen dies and then wakes up years in the past where the stirrings of the first Blackfyre rebellion have begun.

Summary
“Let it fall on ice and wolves,” Aerion dismissed. “Were I king, I’d not waste breath on dead lands in the North.”
Valarr felt himself grow irritated. “And what would you see fit to spend breath on, if not that?” he asked, dry. “The hatching of dragons from stone?”
Valarr survives the great spring sickness, inherits the crown, and, somewhere along the years, is summoned north by Lord Stark.
His first mistake is taking Aerion with him.

Summary
In the aftermath of Baelor's death, the Targaryen family splinters. All Maekar wants is to hold the remnants of his family close, but even he knows that Aerion cannot stay here, not with Baelor's ghost still wandering the halls.
Dunk has had enough of princes for a lifetime, but Baelor's memory will not let him turn away from the wreckage before him. When Maekar begs him to take Aegon on as his squire, he accepts, and when Maekar begs him to look after Aerion, Dunk cannot turn him away. He is determined to fulfill his duty as Baelor's man, and to do it well, Aerion be damned.
Aerion's life crumbles down around his shoulders in the span of a single afternoon. The Maesters say his leg may never fully heal, his own father cannot look him in the eye, and his family wishes he had died in his uncle's stead. When he finds himself exiled to Lys with only the brother who hates him and the knight who maimed him for company, he is certain he's being sent off to die.
Fortunately, the gods have other plans.
