Summary
In the fragile aftermath of the battle with Shroud, the literal and emotional armor finally comes off, leaving Robert and Chad to navigate a new landscape of vulnerability and unspoken truths.
Intimidated by the prospect, Robert steps into a sleek corporate promotion, which he attempts to use as a shield to isolate himself and keep Chad's fire at a safe distance. However, the pressure of the impending re-launch of the Mecha Man unit makes Robert’s stress reach a boiling point, fracturing his control. What begins as a desperate, high-friction attempt to use a single night of physical release to burn Chad out of his system instead traps them both in a web of missed connections and mounting, unreciprocated feelings.

Summary
Earlier that week he had received an envelope. Official looking. Bright read letters on the front of “FINAL NOTICE”. Stern wording. It was not the first time he had received such envelopes. It was, however, the first time it had been sent to his workplace rather than his mailbox at his apartment. Maybe because it was so crammed full that it couldn’t hold anymore. He couldn’t exactly have late payment notices if he had nothing to pay for. He paid his far-too expensive-for-the-amount-of-drafts rent on time thank you very much.
A brief, impolite summary of the letter would be “Get your shit out or we will fine you and sell off everything inside”. It was a tempting offer save for the fine.Or Alternatively: Robert is condemned to spend his Saturday cleaning out a long abandoned storage unit he didn’t even know existed. Punch-Up and Coupé volunteer to help! Surely there will be nothing important in this storage unit.

“I lied to her,” Robert blurted. “To Blazer— Mandy now I suppose. She asked me if I felt better after killing him. I told her I didn’t but—I think I do.”
Coupé and Punch Up shared a look that Robert only saw half of. He did not want to turn to see what expression Punch Up had to be wearing.
“I shouldn’t, right? Feel good about it— or better or…”
“Figured you always planned on killing him. You know, avenge your father and all that.” Colm said. Casually, as if they were discussing the weather.
Or maybe it was carefully, as if he could see the way he was fractured along the edges. Robert could hear a knife chopping something and then stew being stirred.Or alternatively: Robert killed Shroud and went home after a day shift, a light round of torture, an all-nighter emergency shift, and a fight against the man who killed his father in a fucked up mech. Coupé and Punch Up go to make sure he's as alright as he can be. Spoiler alert: He is not. They will fix that.
