“THIS IS NOT A TEST. This is your emergency broadcast system announcing the commencement of the Annual Purge, sanctioned by the Japanese Government. Quirks and Weapons of Class Five and lower have been authorized for use during The Purge. All other weapons and Quirks are restricted. Government Officials and Pro-Heroes of Ranking Ten and above have been granted immunity from The Purge and shall not be harmed.”
“Commencing at the siren, any and all crime, including murder, will be legal for tweleve continuous hours. Pro-Heroes, police, firemen, and emergency medical services will be unavailable until tomorrow morning at seven a.m. when The Purge concludes. Blessed be our New Founding Father and Japan, a nation reborn. May God be with you all.”
Each year, the perimeter where the Purge took place was the same. Musutafu. Anyone who wished to survive would leave the town the night before it began, but five years ago, it changed. No one who lived in Musutafu was allowed to leave. Now, it has changed again.
This time, it was all of Japan.

He tutted and looked up at the plain looking man sat in front of him.
"So, you really want to know everything? Right from the very beginning?"
The man nodded. He took in a deep breath and closed his eyes. A moment later, he slowly opened them again, they were glowing a bright, neon green. The man in front of him flinched back at the sight.
"Alright then. Guess I'd better get on with it. We're gonna be here for a while, so make yourself comfortable and grab a coffee or something to eat."

Midoriya Izuku was born in the early 21st century, to Hisashi and Inko Midoriya.
Life was happy and warm and amazing. Until 2012.Now, the events of 2012 happen a little differently in every universe. In Izuku's, the quirked population were pushed away from the rest of society, for fear that they would cause the end of the world.
So someone rose up to fight for the quirked population.
Only, they took it a step too far and chaos ensued.
And Izuku would spend the rest of his very, very long life trying to stop said person.
Well, among other things.

In a society rich in heroes and wacky quirks, values and principles are being lost. Izuku Midoriya is aware of this, the problem is that no one else seems to notice it. Or they just don't care.
Which is not right, because Izuku is tired of being disappointed with those people he used to admire so much. And no one seems to understand. Nobody. Neither his mother, his supposed best friend, his classmates, nor his teachers.
Izuku's tired. And if no one wants to understand, then he will make them understand, until none of them are able to ignore the truth.
[Or that fanfic in which Izuku understands that being a hero isn't just fighting villains in front of the cameras].
