In a version of the world a little to the left of canon, the Batfamily works a little harder to help a child raised by assassins overcome some of his traumas and misconceptions about the world, teaching him a bit about how a family works as a result.

Summary
Batman rescues the Runaway Talon (the little acrobat he was too late to save) and the street kid he has befriended.
Or... Well. That is what Bruce means to do. Given Batman's typical communication skills and the learned reactions of two traumatized kids collide... It shouldn't be surprising it turned out this way.

Summary
Jason was supposed to protect the innocent, protect the kids, and his whole world view crumbled around him as he realized he couldn’t take it back. He would always be the type of child murdering scum that he’d been trying to rid Gotham of. He would always be a Robin killer.
How was he any better than the Joker?
Or, Jason thinks that he accidentally kills Tim at Titan's Tower. He doesn't handle it well.
