It’s hard to notice initially, but it’s heteronormative painfully so. Wills character has little agency. And the smut scenes didn’t really care to bring up any trauma, they were both just oh look they’re both good at blowjobs.
I thought it would be cool if they met at the wedding (22/23) and had like a thing or whatever, as a way of like projecting (sort of like spit swear but they’re older). But then it develops into smth more. But nay.

Summary
The sun is deceptive in quarantined Hawkins, where martial law has been enacted following the massive 'earthquake.' While Will, Mike, Dustin, Lucas, and Eleven struggle to regroup and sort through salvaged supplies, the tense quiet is annihilated by the arrival of Will’s secret boyfriend. Having been ghosted for three months due to the escalating dimensional crisis, he drives cross-country, bluffs his way past the National Guard blockade, and publicly explodes, cornering Will in front of his stunned friends.

This was 80% Richie just running his mouth. Which wasn’t bad, but unexpected. It was very amusing and oddly comforting. I like the nonsensical interpretation of the big bad (Vecna). It was good

Summary
Mike laughs, something warm and fuzzy filling his chest. He flips over so he can face Will and throws an arm over his shoulder, his fingers fiddling with the chestnut hair shimmering as honey gold sun seeps in through the curtains. Will’s cheeks are flushed, a light sheen of sweat dampening his forehead and glistening over his bare shoulders, and Mike stares in awe at what he has.
Will takes his hand, entirely serious and waiting patiently for an answer, and Mike snorts. “At this point, why don’t you just ask me to marry you?” He jokes.
Suddenly, Will goes quiet and takes his hand, his fingers finding Mike’s ring finger, his eyes gazing at it almost contemplatively, and Mike’s jaw drops.
Will’s considering it. He wants to.

“Why?” Holly whined, as Mike tried to walk away. She threw both arms around his legs and sank to the floor, sitting on his feet so that it was extremely difficult to walk.
“Because,” said Mike, trying to free himself from her grip by shaking his legs. She only held on tighter.
“But he’s so amazing,” said Holly, as Mike shuffled his feet slowly when he realised she would not be relinquishing her hold on him anytime soon. He dragged her into the hallway so he could put on his coat. “He’s the best, most incrediblest, most fantastic babysitter in the whole world! You should marry him!”
Or; Will Byers, well-known as an outcasted freak at Hawkins High, is Holly Wheeler’s babysitter, and perhaps the loveliest person Mike has ever met.

Tho is the cutest most sweetest thing ever omfg. I’m so happy. I thought I’d hate it but I REALLY DONT. It’s like so welcoming and accepting (about the whole gay thing) which it isn’t there’s still bullies and slurs but I don’t feel that existential dread I usually get from yk just being queer. I’m so pleased.
