What if Claire still had questions of her own after the dining room table sex in Philadelphia, and she and Jamie realized much sooner that The John Problem is The Wentworth Problem?
What if, not long after they hashed all that out, Claire and Jamie spent as much time as possible in bed recuperating? And I do mean "in bed," though maybe a few other places too.

In the end, the great Red Death was not defeated by a titan’s fire or ice. She was not defeated by great numbers, by the wrath of many.
She was defeated only by a conversation with a juvenile dragon.
As she led Two-of-One’s subjects towards their new home, following them herself, Stjornandi couldn’t find it in herself to be upset by that fact.
Or, the Red Death is not an evil dragon.
She’s just tired.

Claire Elizabeth Beauchamp is a single, 29 year old business owner of a cute little bookshop with café. She co-owns it with her best friend (since 2nd grade), Geillis Duncan.
James Alexander Malcolm MacKenzie Fraser is a single, 31 year old business owner of a whisky company called Fraser's whisky. His dad just gave him and his brother William more of the reigns of the company and allowed them to have local shops.
Their shops are across from each other. After an intoxicating kiss Jamie cannot stop thinking about Claire, and Claire cannot stop thinking about Jamie. But there are (obviously) some struggles that keep them apart, but Jamie won't let Claire pull away as he believes he has found an absolute gem
