  1. I'm always glad to challenge notions of James, really! I'm glad you felt that this was relatable. As someone with an ASD, I find it hard to relate to a lot of the portrayals of autistic people in the media, because they tend to establish everyone as one of two or three points on the spectrum, when it's exactly that, a spectrum. And that means that there are lots of different types of people that fall on it. So I'm glad that my portrayal of James, which definitely departs from what an NT would have done with his character, is being well-received.

    1. Yeah, we're either "eccentric", "verbal special ed kid whose really sweet", or "freaky tantrum nonverbal burden child". And rarely adults who are not "eccentric".
