    Do you mean volunteers should be fluent in various languages international fans might contact Abuse in or are you suggesting English language speaking fandom's slang isn't English?

      Hi!

      Abuse is definitely interested in recruiting volunteers who speak various languages - we are seeing more and more tickets come in from around the world. However, it's not a requirement at this time.

      translate from fan-speak to English: It's helpful if volunteers are aware of popular fannish terms/shorthand and what they mean. We occasionally get reports from new users who are confused about specific terms or tropes on the Archive and we need to explain what they mean to people not familiar with fandom. I apologize if the wording was confusing!
