Little question: If my work is sent to the server during maintenance, can you restore it?
I submitted a good chunk of a chapter during maintenance. I tried to contact you, but your support form wasn't working and i didn't get a reply from the backup form.
We checked with AO3 Support about this issue. Unfortunately, if you don't see the draft or work posted to your account, then you will need to re-submit it. Support is not able to restore drafts for you. We're sorry if you've unexpectedly lost your work. However, AO3 is not intended as a substitute for a word processor or a text editor, so there is no autosave function. AO3 Support strongly recommends composing and editing your works in a separate program or app so that you will have a backup copy of your work in the event of accidental browser closure or unexpected downtime. Drafts can be used to put the finishing touches on a work (tags, formatting, etc.), but because they are automatically deleted after 30 days, they’re not a good way to save text long-term.
