NOTE: This fic was written first.
It's New Year's Eve, 1999, in New York City. It's been a few years since the Shitennou came back from their quiet box sitting next to Mamoru's bed and began learning how to be human again. Now, along with their Prince, they currently have a penthouse apartment in midtown while he attends medical school, and every year, they throw a legendary NYE bash. This is the big one, and it's seen through the eyes of Makoto and Nephrite (quite possibly the only strictly monogamous couple in their entire group of rowdy friends.) CW: Underage drinking, marijuana use, 90s techno.

Summary
CW: Disasterfic. Parts of this fic may be triggering due to the detailing of reasons to panic, reasons to grieve, and things that happen in a natural or manmade disaster, when the world is ending around you. No emotional quarter is given. I have prefaced the chapters most likely to be a problem with individual content warnings.
Last October is set five hundred years from now, and uses somewhat sped-up worst-case-scenario official projections of the effects of climate change as a result of unchecked pollution, and the failure of a patchwork half-magic weather and sustainable energy system, and it applies them to the doomsday event that heralds the dawn of Crystal Tokyo. The Prince, Princess, Senshi, and Shitennou deal with preparing for it in their various ways, then work together to mitigate the damage as much as they can.

2/2 Crystal Tokyo is beautiful. It's also the setting, here, for couple of old-ass dumbasses having kinky sex and accidentally hurting feelings and changing their minds and trying to make each other happy in the 30th century! Or 29th, I forget.
