Description:

Or: Pippin's Summer of Love, as enacted by four familiar hobbits and several others in passing.

Notes:

This series of hobbit relationship stories is set in year 1412 of Shire Reckoning (year 3012 of the Third Age of Middle Earth). It's based in the Lord of the Rings book timeline during the interval after Bilbo leaves the Shire and before Frodo takes the Ring to Mordor. In 1412, Frodo has his 44th birthday, Sam has his 32nd, Merry turns 30 and Pippin turns 22. Hobbits, in the book, become legal adults at age 33, and don't generally marry until after that.

The background assumption for this series is that tween-aged hobbits may explore relationships and partners fairly freely, without strong taboos against same-sex playing. There are other taboos, chiefly against misuse of authority.

Rated teen-and-up for picturesque, not-too-graphic, sex. The hobbit pairings vary between Frodo, Merry, Pippin and Sam, and some mention is made of pairings outside the foursome, including some with female hobbits. There is no sex between hobbits and non-hobbits mentioned.

Exclusive Frodo/Sam fans may read "Midsummer Festival" and "Autumn Fire" and skip the rest. Exclusive Merry/Pippin fans may look at "Harvest Season" which is about Merry and Pippin first and last, although it includes brief other pairings.
