When Dream escaped prison, he expected everything to be the same as it used to be. Sure, the whole world was against him now, but when hadn’t they been? It was nothing new, nothing that he couldn’t handle. An easy bargain, a price that he was more than willing to pay for his freedom.
And he really should have been fine, all things considered.

As much as Dream would like to pretend otherwise, the prison changed him. Months of torture and solitary confinement tend to do that to people, no matter how strong they may have been.

It was only once he was inside the prison that it truly struck him. He was in the same place as Dream was. He was going to see Dream. Face to face, with nothing to separate them. Nothing to protect him.
But it was fine. It would be fine. Because this time, Dream was stuck. This time he was free. This time Tommy would have the power.
