Summary
Serafin Lavellan, apprentice Halla Keeper of his Clan, is not a hero. He is not a savior. He can barely meet the eyes of the people who call him such, especially the steel-clad Seeker who has gone from threatening to kill him to placing him on a pedestal in less than a day. How can he trust that their minds won't change again? How can he be anything but terrified?
He is able to find some solace in his interactions with Haven's nugs, his friendship with Varric, and later his fascination with Master Dennet and his horses. But to become the leader that the Inquisition needs, he will need to learn to trust his new allies, just as they will have to learn to trust and respect him as a person rather than an icon.

Summary
Finn Lavellan never asked to be called the Herald of Andraste. He never asked to have the fate of Thedas hoisted onto his shoulders. He only ever excelled at one thing, and that was the care of Clan Lavellan's halla and deer herds. Animals made sense. Animals didn't think he was wrong or weird or a failure. Around them, he could just...be.
As Finn struggles to come to terms with his new place in the world, he finds solace and guidance in the animals that come under his care. He finds a mentor in Horsemaster Dennet, and new friends and allies in places and walks of life he never would have experienced in his Clan.
Maybe, with their help, he can become the hero Thedas needs. And maybe, just maybe, he can actually start to believe he can be that hero.
