Summary
The news Bobby's been dreading finally comes: deemed no longer capable of being rehabilitated, Prosecutor Blackquill's execution date has been set, and Bobby's assignment to him is terminated.
Except there are things—and people—worth fighting for. And Simon can fight back all he wants, but Bobby's already given his word: he won't give up on him, not with justice on the line. Able to procure a brief meeting with the soon-to-be-appointed Chief Prosecutor, Bobby advocates for the opportunity for Simon to pursue all the twisted truths he'd been trying to unravel before everything was ripped away six years ago.
Prosecutor Blackquill takes this development about as well as Bobby expects him to. Which is not at all.
