Summary
Arthur Kirkland was not born as a Great Empire.
He was born with the fresh soil beneath his feet and ancient songs in his blood, nothing more than a boy in the woods who was plucked from his lands and haunted by the mist. Then he was a proud warrior, an ancient king, a feral pirate, a heartless conqueror, a distant father, a terrified soldier, and a bitter old man.
This is a character study about England, Arthur Kirkland. The experiences of his life and how they shaped him into the person he became today.

I'm a little crazy and I've started re-writing some of the earlier chapters to improve both prose and historical accuracy.As I work through updating the whole thing, there will be some inconsistencies as far as the names and character development goes. Please bear with me as much as possible, all of the story beats in the chapters already drafted will essentially stay the same, additions will largely be fleshing out the parts that were summarised.

Summary
Two Elizabethan sonnets (c.1590-1600) were recently paired in the British Library's Department of Manuscripts.
Item (a), headed "Sonnet 85: For F--," was donated anonymously in 1986 with the sole condition that it be displayed alongside item (b).
Item (b), headed "Pour celui qui demeure dans mon cœur" [For the one who remains in my heart], was recovered in 1952 from the debris of a private London residence destroyed during the Blitz.
