You are Nothing.
Not a body.
Not a person.
ŇØŤ Ä ĞİŘŁ.
Nothing.
And so it was. Dren was now Nothing, and Nothing had no mind to hate itself with. No will with which to question what was being done to it. No accursed form over which it despaired and grieved. Over which it Longed.
And now that you are Nothing, you may be

Summary
To better preserve the Beauty of the Gracestar Himself, the Illuminated Vessel is required to lay with an exclusive harem of compatible partners lauded for their Beauty and produce many offspring which become the selection pool for the next generation’s Illuminated Vessel. This has been The Way ever since the Gracestar chose the first Illuminated Vessel by His own discretion and declared,
“Keep this bed of flowers ever-seeded, that when the petals fall with the seasons’ turning, there may be others risen in its place such that one may embody my Beauty.”
And henceforth, so it was.

Summary
Most Consortes weren’t chosen from among the desert-rabble Vindex Regnum snatched up from the Wasteland before they became too diseased or cancerous for their bodies to be put to work in the Propugnaculum; but then again, most Consortes didn’t… volunteer themselves in such a degradingly zealous fashion as the man known only as “Skelter” —waste-dwellers and their love of self-selected mononyms— had.
Private Volesus Amadeus had expected to feel an innate distaste when looking upon him, similar to when one finds a cockroach scurrying near one's boot, but instead, in witnessing the man’s deific worship of Basileus Extinctor, he developed a strange sense of brotherhood —granted, Volesus saw the white-and-silver mech as a deeply respected superior officer in Vindex Regnum’s Imperial Warforce, not a god— but Skelter’s sheer level of dedication to Basileus Extinctor struck a similar chord to his own. He, too, would have given his life to the war machine without hesitation if asked; which, he supposed, was what he was doing right now: agreeing to a lifetime enclosed within his massive metal frame, obedient to his every whim.

Summary
“Little nothing.”
The great mech’s all-encompassing rumble was so utterly deafening that the mechanic was convinced the entire world had just spoken to him in one voice, the sound a physical thing that permeated every cell in his body and whited out his mind with rapturous bliss.
“Basileus has followed little nothing’s paltry species’ rise and fall in the ghost-memories given to him during his conception. Basileus has witnessed a time when humanity’s reach seemed infinite, its grand empire stretching across galaxies, and he watches them now as they scrabble about like wild animals in the ruins of their past glory, unaware that they fight their petty territorial disputes amongst the very marvels of their ancestors which brought them so low. He has fought under a hundred banners, been baptised in the synth-blood of his enemies on ten-thousand wartorn battlefronts. He knows the course of humanity’s history better than they could possibly know it themselves; and yet still, he has never encountered one with such a…unique adoration for him. Explain to Basileus what brought this forth.”
