Summary
Something old is waking up at the bottom of the sea. Kronos put it there. Percy Jackson is going to have to walk past it.
Set between The Sea of Monsters and The Titan's Curse — when Kronos anchors himself to the ocean and begins corrupting it from within, Percy leads a small team into the Sea of Monsters to stop him. Simple enough, except that Percy's powers have been changing in ways nobody planned for. He can feel every heartbeat in a room. He pulled venom from his own blood mid-fight last month. He knows, without having tested it, exactly what he could do to a person if he chose to.
He won't. That's the rule.
But Kronos has been steering Percy specifically — using his father's voice, his own instincts, his love for the people beside him — and the trap was built long before Percy knew he was walking into it.
