Summary
Noa thinks this while ignoring how Ego will go to bed an hour later than he normally would to slip a paper into Noa's desk detailing his shortcomings and training to remedy them. He's clearly just doing this so that Noa can't complain, "Jin, you're superhuman!", and Jin can retort that he obviously isn't, does Noa see the bags under his eyes? He must be a useless fucking superhuman, then, to be this weak.And Noa will respond, no, you're weak physically, yet you're still at the top of our class in strategy and play. That's what superhuman is. Then, the two will lapse into comfortable silence, Noa stretching and Ego curled into himself, calculating the odds of each team he would play next, and then Noa's stats.
or: Noa and Ego's progression through the years, chasing after each other only to fall once again.

Summary
"You still eat those?" Noa reaches over, and before Ego can stop him, he plucks the lollipop out of the other's spindly hand.
"I was still eating that one," Ego replies, casting a glance at the stolen candy. "Now give that back, asshole."
It's more fondly than he's spoken to Noa in decades, but now the blonde can't help but want to push at the boundary that Ego has set; step just an inch over the line to see how far he can go before being pushed back.
"Asshole? I remember that you used to call me something nicer than that." Noa taps his chin.
Ego stays silent, looking even more like a petulant child now than when he is lording his power over the players of Blue Lock.
"Right, Jin?"
Noa thinks that Ego is still the boy he used to be, but Ego is determined to prove him wrong.
