A wounded Weeping Monk and the young boy, Squirrel, are captured into the camp of the last remaining true Fey queen who is forced to hold the Monk's life in her hands. Deciding to let the Monk live was not going to be easy, and the young Fey queen slowly learns that there is more to the monster than what he seems. Between them they set out to return the boy to his people, but trouble always follows where death goes, and feelings develop in the most unexpected of ways.

“Not her,” Arthur says.
“We need him alive, she—“
“Is right here,” Pym says, picking up her bag. She concentrates on the amulet, “and doesn’t need to be spoken for,” she looks at Arthur and sees him wavering, “I’m better than no healer.”
After everything Pym has faced down, Squirrel bringing the Weeping Monk to her isn't something she was prepared to deal with. As in all things, she adjusts.

Nimue, afraid that King Uther has gone back on his deal with the Fey, is determined to make certain that her people are safe. Along the way, she runs into an old friend and a new face.
Arthur and the Red Spear, fearing that King Cumber is after Nimue, remain with the Fey on the shore. Arthur's focus is saving Nimue, while the Red Spear knows it is her duty to beat her father and take back the throne. As they work together—and grow closer—can they deny the spark between them?
Squirrel, unknowing that Nimue has escaped capture, feels that it is his duty to save Nimue from her fate at the hands of King Uther. Lancelot makes it his duty to protect Squirrel, despite the danger looming at them from all sides.
Morgana and Merlin, fueled by vengeance, are determined to kill Iris for her part in Nimue's demise.

Father Carden of the Red Brotherhood has devoted more than a decade to bringing up his youngest converts: Lancelot and Gawain, two boys who don't remember being stolen away by the Fey, though it has never occurred to them to doubt that their Father rescued them from the demons.
Now sixteen, they are preoccupied with proving themselves as devoted followers—though their strange place in the small community distracts them, as does their growing attraction to each other. When Lancelot is assigned to guard an important Fey captive through the nights, her perspectives (and the boys' unusual blessings) are pitted against their faith in Carden's story of their origins. -

Gawain can’t leave the paladin camp without Squirrel. Similarly, Squirrel can’t leave the paladin camp without Lancelot. It seems that Gawain will just have to deal with it.
Morgana doesn’t know what she’s going to do now. All she does know is that she has to find Nimue and make sure she’s alright. She hasn’t the slightest clue how to start.
Arthur has been left in charge of the Fey. Should he go across the sea with them and make sure they are safe? Or should he stay behind to find Nimue? Thankfully, the scary and determined Red Spear can help him make the choice.
Iris has everything she wanted. She should be happy. But she isn’t. She never seems to be happy.
