After the courtroom episode Janus decides that there truly is no point in trying to persuade the others. So after he sends Remus to bother Thomas and the core sides, he chooses to take matters into his own hands. With a simple needle and thread he finally does to himself what he has done to all the others.
He silenced himself.
He expected the others to find out eventually, of course he did. He already expected the disgusted pitiful looks and grateful whispers behind his back. Expected the others to become happier than they were with his contributions. Expected the praise from Patton for finally 'reeling it in'.
He wasn't expecting Remus to follow his lead. Granted though, he should've seen this coming.
