Prior to this, she hasn't risen from the Deep Dark in months to visit, and even then, the short visits don't fully show her the life that Plethora leads.
She hasn't truly known Plethora, or any of her sisters for that matter, the moment she sunk down into those depths.
…Did they know her? She did everything to make sure they were all right, taken care of. It is the promise she made when she first laid eyes upon her sisters. She was the oldest; it was her duty.
She brought Neap to their feet, sending the scared child into the safer, mysterious depths. She stood by as Labyrinth sobbed at Petrichor staying topside. She remained idle as Plethora collapsed at the thought of being separated. They never knew how she felt.
They never knew the tears that were never shed, the aching, clawing hunger as food sat there, just in reach. Of course they didn't. But they did, didn't they? She didn't allow them to look any closer.
And now, they're a mystery, even to her.

People had their theories, of course, as there were only so many arctic foxes in the city, but it was harder than you’d think to discover the identity of one hybrid in a city full of them. And really, if their fans ever found out who they were, it was very likely they'd stop posting…so best not to dig too deep.
