Summary
After the race, abandoned by Rusty, Hydra helps Lumber and Porter untangle Greaseball, Electra and Slick. He has no idea he's about to get closer to the Electric engine than he ever thought possible, and no idea of what he's letting himself in for. Electra's trying to keep their polycule together as Hydra's addition rocks the boat, Rusty's slowly realising he has a huge crush on his racing partner, and Slick and Greaseball just want to make amends after that disastrous final.

There’s a moment of gentle silence, broken only by the birds chirping in the twilight sun, and Hydra knows he needs to let them go in. He can’t keep them outside forever, much as he might wish to.
Before he knows what’s happening, there’s a kiss being pressed into his cheek, a squeeze of his shoulder and -
‘Visit me? While I recover?’
‘So dramatic... even when you’re flirting.’ Hydra dares to tease. ‘You’ll be fixed up in no time and you know it.’
‘But think of my ego after that defeat...’ and if the kiss hadn’t already firmly sealed the deal, Electra’s puppy-eyes nail Hydra firmly around their little finger.
‘Not sure that can be mended... but keep kissing up to me, and I'll see what I can do.’

When Debbie gets out she has three goals. 1. do the job. 2. get her woman back. 3. get revenge. Seemed simple enough until she saw the body laying on Lou's couch. The fact that she also really wanted revenge wasn't helping either. As they build the team and Debbie gets to know Lou's new girl Debbie thinks her chance has passed, but if that is true what does Lou keep talking like she isn't willing to give the Ocean up?
Will Debbie be able to get over herself long enough to see the great thing sitting right in front of her face, or will she blow her chance again?
Basically: Lou has a new girlfriend who is more than a little on the young side but still over 18. Debbie gets jealous, then protective, and might just fall in love along the way.

“It’s not Lightning, by the way” the kid nearly whispers, picking at the frayed hem on the ankle of his sweatpants.
Doc turns to look at him fully, “What’s not?”
“My name.” He doesn’t make eye contact, refuses to even let Doc try to catch his blue eyes, “Harv had me change it when I started racin’ with him.”
Doc knew Lightning probably wasn’t the kid’s god given name. He’d been around racing long enough to know the different monikers often helped give the racer a break from being the racer when they wanted a second away from it all. He hadn’t known Lightning to share that desire. Lightning McQueen was written in all the court documents from their first meeting, on every check the kid signed to revitalize the town, even the kid’s credit card held the moniker. He’d assumed somewhere along the line, the kid had changed whatever his birth name was to his chosen name. Never really felt the need to question it.
“It’s Montgomery.” Lightning whispered.
Or; Lightning may have bitten off more than he can chew with his new found fame. He thought he was ready to be THE Lightning McQueen, but will he ever not be Montgomery?
