I have a lot of respect for this author because of how strongly I reacted to certain characters and scenes due to their writing - I would have never guessed that this was their first fanfic. This was a really, really powerful story.
Notes to self (Spoilers): Omg the end of Chapter 01 is so embarrassing, but so funny. In fact, there are a ton of funny sayings throughout this series that the author provides. Words of the day: "bacchanalian"- per Google, "characterized by or given to drunken revelry; riotously drunken" and "dipsomania"- "alcoholism, specifically in a form characterized by intermittent bouts of craving for alcohol." Charlie Bradbury is the most bestest, wonderful friend ever and as of Chapter 04, I want to kick Sam in the nuts. Destiel smut begins in Chapter 07 even though there's smut with Benny in chapters before that. One of the road trips starts in Chapter 09; I'm glad there starts to be some of Cas' POV included in the fic after this too. We mostly learn what happened to Mary in Chapter 11 (but don't get the full story until Chapter 25, 26 & finally 29) and what's wrong with Sam in Chapter 12. Holy shit at the massive bombshell in Chapter 19 and Ellen is such a BAMF in Chapter 20. That being said, Chapters 20-24 gave me anxiety and thank God for Bobby at the beginning of Chapter 23. I also can't freaking stand Lisa (again, kudos to this author's writing) and Chapter 29 further cements the fact that John is a huge freaking POS. The end of the main fic then wraps up with such fluffy hope and happiness - I hope the author will add more timestamps to the series because I keep wanting more and more of this 'verse.

Nores to self (Spoilers!!):
Part 1: The author's end notes at the end of Chapter 04 made me laugh since at the time they wrote this fic they didn't have the luxury of knowing canon Season 13 - they weren't wrong though! First Destiel smut is in Chapter 9. This series was definitely written like it was an episode by episode take of a Season 10 AU fix-it, so it flowed pretty well. This is why the author says they didn't end up making this fic half porn, half plot because they wanted it to read as if it was really canon (and canon TV episodes don't have porn all the time LOL). I appreciated Dean's attempts at normalcy despite being a demon and struggling with the Mark of Cain's bloodthirst. Just like in canon though, Dean begins to lose touch with his humanity, but unlike in canon Sam's sacrifice (which was a total surprise to me) is what actually cured him, with Cas by his side to help pick up the pieces. Good Lord though, this fic embraces the word "epic," especially in the last few chapters = it was really hard to put down. The author did well on their promise of a satisfying ending.
Part 2: Great non-penetrative smut! Chapter 1 takes place after Dean and Cas first hook up in Part 1's chapter 9. Chapter 2 takes place after Part 1's chapter 16. Chapter 3 takes place After Part 1's chapter 19. Sadly, the title suggests more smut than there actually is...good fluff though.

On the way to the check-out line, Wilbur picks up a carton of strawberries with that same subconscious smile he can’t really pin-point, and he’s almost tempted to make a dinner fit for a king of Corn Flakes and strawberries. It’s not until he’s setting the items on the conveyor belt that a memory is set off in his head.
It’s just a small memory. A simple moment in a time before all the carnage of war really began; when they were all just beginning to realize the weight of the things they wanted and what they were prepared to do to get it. When L’manburg was allowed to just be something they built and wanted to protect. When L’manburg and Tommy were one in Wilbur’s eyes and that fact wasn’t absolutely fucking devastating.
