Summary

"Sure, maybe L kind of enjoyed seeing Light lose his perfect composure - that was when the “real” Light appeared, whom L found much more interesting than the fake facade he persisted in putting on. And, alright, maybe he sort of liked having someone to talk to who could be considered an equal for once. It was stimulating, and an unexpectedly nice change from his solitary life. But, first of all, he would never admit any of this, and secondly, this didn’t mean anything. They had simply grown accustomed to being with each other all the time, which was a good thing considering their situation, but it didn’t mean that they liked it. L certainly didn’t.

Light Yagami masked himself to be a perfect model of various archetypes. The perfect student, the perfect son, the perfect friend, the perfect boyfriend. It was as though he refused to let a single flaw slip through him, as though being human was something wrong to be, replacing chances for mistakes with satisfactory yet saccharine ‘outcomes.’
The moment L enters Light Yagami’s world in person, Light conjures up the perfect plan: to pretend flirt with L and romance him into giving up his real name. L sees right through him, but pretends to go along with Light’s advances in hopes of eventually unmasking him to be Kira.

Summary
Koi no yokan 恋の予感: the feeling upon first meeting someone that you will inevitably fall in love with them.
~Light decides to take a little risk and seek a no-strings-attached hookup and gets a surprising (accidental) match. Light and L gradually open up to each other over the course of a night, not knowing who the other is. However, as they go back to their lives in the morning, suspicions take hold and secrets come to light. The chance meeting starts to feel a lot more like fate as L closes in on Kira, and both must decide whether they felt anything real for the other and what that means. This decision is only the first of many as Light plans his New World and L finds out sinister secrets about his childhood and Wammy’s House.

Thin silver glinted.
A sharp clink echoed on the concrete floor.
The room stilled.
Aizawa’s brows furrowed. “What the hell is that!?”
Soichiro’s eyes followed the glinting razor blade on the floor. He hesitated, but when he spoke his voice was low “Matsuda…?”
Mogi shifted his stance, unexpectedly solemn.
Light leaned forward, suspicion flickered in his eyes. “Why do you have that in your wallet?”
Matsuda scrambled, hand shooting out to reclaim the fallen object, but he wasn’t fast enough.
L’s pale fingers intercepted, plucking the razor blade cleanly from the floor before Matsuda’s grasp could close. He held it aloft, pinched delicately between thumb and forefinger, bringing it closer to his face.
Matsuda is put into an unpredictable situation when his secret addiction is abruptly exposed to the task force members. Set duting the Yotsuba arc.
