Summary
Through Eilén we get to know Gaear Grimsrud from their younger ages and how their relation develops despite their obvious flaws and questionable morals. A shared story of hurt, yet not spoken out about, brings them together, but the burden they carry makes the road long. What happened before the fatal no-mess job, that had brought Gaear and Eilén both joy and sorrow, pleasure and dread, and why would he only speak freely around a few trusted ones? Rumours say a lot about them, but what is the truth? Do they even know the truth? And what are they, behind all their layers? And who is Gaear? Their story takes them through unplanned events, behind lies, through danger and fear, and to the rather questionable sides of society.
Here I have played a bit with the dynamics with a character that obviously is more to than what we get to see. It has been challenging, but I have enjoyed the process and I hope you enjoy reading the story and it's ups and downs. The story focuses more on how they see each other under different circumstances, rather than the circumstances themselves.

Sara nodded as a calendar appeared, overlaying the photograph. “I missed that. Good work, Gideon.” She rubbed the bridge of her nose. “One more thing.” She pressed her back against the wall. “There was a note, and my bank account had half a million transferred into it this morning.” She causally held up the note in question. “I have three days to ‘eliminate the target’.”
Ray whistled and sat his coffee down on the desk, peering at the note in Sara’s hand. “Half a million? Do you think it’s The League?”
She shook her head. “No, The League hasn’t contacted me in years. That break was as clean as I could ever hope to get.”
Zari took a bite of the donut she had carefully selected from the box. “So, someone out there knows that you’re the Canary and hired you to take out this Sharpe woman?” She talked around the food in her mouth as she chewed.
