Sidious manipulates Anakin to believe Obi-Wan is dead, causing him to fall to the dark side much earlier than in the movies. Meanwhile, Obi-Wan and the Jedi think Anakin is dead, and that the new Sith by the name of Darth Vader is a pretty odd one.
(This is basically a shit ton of Anakin angst)

Summary
He was packing the few belongings he possessed when Obi-Wan burst into his rooms. The man paused when he saw Anakin bowed over a stuffed bag, disbelief coloring the Force around him.
"Anakin..." His voice was broken, but its edges weren't sharp. They were as soft as the hands that had previously cradled his Padawan's face, as rounded as the wrinkles by his mouth when he had smiled at his young apprentice.
Straightening, Anakin turned to face his former Master. "You've heard, then," he muttered.
OR: Anakin and Obi-Wan's friendship is strained under the pressure of war. Anakin realizes the darkness pressing at him will not go away on its own after an argument between them, and he understands that he must leave the Jedi Order if he doesn't want to fall. Obi-Wan finally stops being emotionally constipated as a result.

Smoke curls out from his mouth and sneaks up under his ear all secret, and Marty turns his eyes away like he’s been slapped. For a second, before he catches himself, Marty thinks: God, the ass I could pick up if I looked like that.
