Summary
Lune had not spoken since she had taken her seat. When her fingers dipped low enough to brush along his crown, they were pleasantly warm. Stained with ink – like his hair bleeding. Each pass came so routinely that Verso could not even sparingly comprehend a world where she no longer cradled him.
Canon divergence AU. Lune and Verso spend a quiet morning together. Please note the tags.

How many times can one man fall in love, watch his affections die, and still get up in the morning?
Here he is again on the precipice, love tightly coiled inside of him like a spring.
It’s just who he is, who he was painted to be.Bookmarked by 095

After Verso lost the final duel against his sister, he left Lumière wanting nothing to do with it and whatever she would create.

Summary
“We old men must adapt to the times.” Verso thumbs across her cheek, fond and careful. “You’re way ahead, of course. So cutting edge you make them bleed.”
“Gustave gets eye strain from arcane journals. As I have told you,” she teases. “Such things tend to happen with age. You’ll have to grow used to it, now that you’re mortal like the rest of us.”
Age is always a strange topic for them. For everyone in the city. Verso no longer dyes his hair, and silver spills forth with every wash. His beard is salt-and-pepper. Lune longs to join him in that. Visible signs of age fills her with triumph. A satisfying sense of spite, even.
