    Being made the "leader" of the Mad Dogz changed everything, and nothing, all at once.

    Above all else, Raph's still the older brother—still the big, loveable guy that they all look up to, both literally, and not. No matter how much Leo showboated, or claimed he had a “right” to do things as a leader (like ordering Donnie to get the pizza deliveries while he lounged about on the couch), Raph is still the top dog. A leader in practically all, but name.
    So even though Leo was the "leader", nothing actually changed. Raph was still the protector, Mikey was still the artist, Donnie was still the genius, and Leo was still the face-man.

    …The nightmares, though. Those were new.

    The four intruders were standing near each other at the outskirts of the lab. Apart from some minor scuff marks and scratches marring their features, they seemed in decent shape, ready to attack in a moment’s notice. Yet their forms were sloppy. Amateurish. The weapons held by three of the four were stolen from Draxum’s stash, which Leo knew only because he’d originally stolen them in the first place.

    Little details that paled in comparison to one glaring thing.

    Oh, Leo thought. They survived.
