Summary
Makoto has always struggled with his mental health. From a young age, he had to block out his parents’ constant arguing and cover his sister's ears. In middle school, he had a very tough time just surviving and making it to the next day. Grades dropping, parents disappointed, barely finding a reason to get out of bed. Makoto almost gave up. Now he’s going to Hope’s Peak Academy as the Ultimate Lucky Student, experiencing the dreams of millions. Makoto must navigate his complicated feelings and learn to ask for help.
Kyoko is an emotionally strong person. She never let things deter her in the name of truth and justice. Even coming to Hope’s Peak and meeting her dad has not deterred her, despite the complicated feelings towards him. After a while of being a student at Hope’s Peak, she notices Makoto’s concerning behavior and decides to investigate the Lucky Student’s past, present, and future in hopes of learning more about him.
Or TL;DR: An AU where Makoto had bad mental health in the past and his journey of healing and loving himself while learning how to open up to his friends and ask for help while a student at Hope’s Peak. Plus Kyoko POV and a lot of Naegiri.
