"Where are we going?" There's a smile on the man's face, but something about the smile feels off—and dare he say it, unsettled. His demeanor seems warm, but the look in his eyes is anything but.
It's enough for Jacob to know that this man is nothing but trouble.
He looks at Mydei to ask if he knows the man, but the downward turn of Mydei's lips answers his unasked question. If that isn't enough, Mydei is also angled away from the man, as if he doesn't want to be near this stranger.
A surge of protectiveness hits him, spurring him into action almost immediately. He steps forward, chest puffed out. "Is he bothering you, Mydei?"
