Summary
So, it is in the library that Gale now sits, listening with practiced indifference, to the back and forth between his mother and Tara; Tara demands that Gale be afforded time to rest following ‘his ordeal’, whereas his mother insists he is in dire need of companionship. Gale has no inclination towards either; his initial hope of the squabble running its course on its own, however, dwindles the longer it goes on. He supposes, after-all, that having had just over two tendays without such a conversation was more than he could have hoped for.

Summary
Gale returns to Waterdeep, to the woman he barely knows but has been betrothed to for two decades, leaving behind a heartbroken Tav in Baldur's Gate.
----
The parchment is expensive. Tav runs her fingertips over the wax seal and hesitates; she knows what this is. She is not surprised that it is happening, she is, however, surprised at being included in some way. Perhaps, she allows herself, she had hoped it wouldn't be so soon. (She has already put to bed the part of herself that had hoped it would not happen at all.) Gale had, after all, been very clear - and devastatingly gentle - in his explanation.

Summary
Sleep does not come easily these days. Not that Tav isn’t tired; she is, desperately so. But, between the intrusive visitor in her dreams, the parasite threatening to end her life, and the handsome – not to mention extraordinarily chatty – wizard who won’t leave her thoughts, sleep has become a luxury she fears she may never fully enjoy again.

Summary
After a year of silence from Tav, Gale Dekarios is still waiting, still grieving, and still trying to pull the Crown of Karsus from the Chionthar in the hope that divine approval might help him bring her home.
Then, while drunk he makes one very small, very terrible mistake. He claims he is on a date.
Enter Clementine Alberral: drow bard, professional menace, owner of excellent cheekbones, and apparently now Gale’s beloved.Unfortunately, Clementine has problems of her own. Specifically, an unfinished contract, a talent for lying beautifully, and a growing suspicion that pretending to love Gale Dekarios might be far easier than surviving the moment she stops pretending.

Summary
“I am going to die,” Gale whispers into the darkness, then again, directly at her sleeping form. “I truly am going to die.”
The words don’t feel quite real as they linger in the air. He shifts closer and rests his hand on the warm curve of her cheek.
“Tell me that we will find another way. You never stopped believing we could fix this, even when I thought I had exhausted every other possibility. Say that you can— please.”
He’d bore witness to the miracles she could perform first hand: commanding a devil to fall on his own sword, pulling an undead dragon from the sky, burning the very God of Death to cinders– why would it be such a foolish thing to hope she could stop this as well?
He leans closer, stopping but a breath from her face.
"I can't do it. I'm not ready."
