Summary
Which is normal, all things considered. It is a normal day for Iris. She wakes up in the middle of the night, as she would often do when she suffered from nightmares. But Iris can count three things that are decidedly not normal about this whole situation:
1. The light in her room is turned on as she wakes up.
She always turns her light off before sleeping. She just can’t sleep with lights on; it gives her horrible migraines.
2. The water is rushing from the tap in the bathroom.
She checks her entire house twice for all sound. She hates loud noises and can’t sleep with anything disturbing her silence.
3. She has dried tear tracks running down her cheeks, and she can’t remember what had brought her into that position.

Iris has her faults, but she lives a normal life. That is - until her boyfriend, Noah Czerny, starts calling her at night and not saying anything.
