Summary
Almost as if on cue, a pulse of energy began thrumming from the north. The grounds shook, and the murky waters of the River of Souls collided and crashed in tides. In the sky, one of Oronyx’s stars shined brighter than any other in the vicinity.
Somehow, Mydei knew this instinctively: the world belonging to that light was that of no other. It belonged to the very first Phainon of Aedes Elysiae––the 0th turn.
The system thrummed in apprehension, warning him.

So be it, then. It seemed that if Mydei wanted to observe the 0th turn, he would have to do so as a constellation.
His hand hovered over the display screen, the camera displaying a still young, not-quite worn Deliverer yet. He smiled softly.
Perhaps he could be a little selfish––just this once.
An ORV AU where Mydei is the one who stayed behind and Phainon is the one who searched for him after every cycle. Major ORV spoilers as events mostly take place during the epilogue.

Summary
The poems say they fought for ten days and ten nights. That they were close. That they were unable to part.
Only Phainon knew the truth. In the early days, distance and frustration had marked their friendship, a pattern broken only in moments of life and death or in the perilous theatre of battle. Having veiled his mind and heart, Mydei did not make it easy for others to know him.
But the gods are merciful, and the hero is far more persistent.

Summary
The passing of Veritas Ratio had little impact in the face of the universe, given all of his inventions and discoveries on behalf of humanity. He was mourned on a small scale, by select students and work colleagues.
Three years later, his tombstone is still well-maintained. Ratio visits the place at Pier Point. An expensive expenditure for a dead man without the remains to be buried here - an empty plot of land, holding its worth in fresh flowers.
Or
Ratio wakes up three years after his death and is asked to help Aventurine get over a broken heart. He wonders who would reject Aventurine. He’s starting to get it.

“You had to go through that thirty-three times?” Tribbie asked. Her voice wobbled with unshed tears.
Phainon did the only thing possible in such a situation: He panicked.
“Uh,” he said, because clearly his eloquence had abandoned him during one of the cycles, “yes?”
// OR, circumstance leads to the heirs thinking Phainon only lived through thirty-three cycles. Rather than correcting them on this, Phainon doubles down and decides this is the new narrative he'll go along with so as to avoid worrying them too much.
