Eddie is Gollum-precious about the thing, and none of the little shits can ever know.)

“What?” Eddie says. “Just say it, man. You’re starting to freak me out.”
Steve tilts his head. “I was just thinking,” he draws out, looking at Eddie. “Mike and Will need someone to lead by example and show them that being in a relationship is possible.”
Eddie stares at him, then scowls. “Are you fucking with me right now?” he asks. “I’m not in a relationship.”
