Summary
“Gandalf,” Bilbo said, quite taken aback. “Whatever are you doing here?”
“Ah, so you do remember me,” said Gandalf, raising one enormous, bushy eyebrow. “Hm. Very good.”
“My dear Gandalf, you know I never forget a face,” Bilbo said.
“Ah, you’ve a keen mind, young Master Baggins. I would expect nothing less from Belladonna Took’s son,” said Gandalf with a hint of a smile. “I am looking for someone to share in an adventure.”
“Another adventure? Why Gandalf, whatever do you mean?”
“My dear Bilbo,” said Gandalf. “If you so desire, your adventures as a young Hobbit could be just the beginning. The world, after all, is a very large place and you have only seen a very small part of it.”
“I am much too old now for any adventures, as you very well know, Gandalf,” said Bilbo, with a wry laugh.
“I see,” said Gandalf slowly, an expression of solemnity gracing his features. “I have come not a moment too soon."
OR after years in Valinor, Bilbo decides it is time for him to depart from the world. Instead, he ends up back at Bag End as he had known it years and years ago with a chance to fix his greatest sorrow.- Language:

Though Bilbo had learned to see past the dwarf’s gruff exterior and begin to spot his subtle, loving gestures, he would never have guessed that he was such an aggressive snuggler.

Summary
An act of kindness from a stranger can often save even one bitter soul. Most people don't realize they have saved a life at least once, just by being an out of place beacon of hope for a desperate person who needs just one reason why. Or rather, one reason why not.
Thorin has lost everything: his home, his wealth, his comrades, and most of his family. The outlook for him is bleak, and it seems he has nothing to live for. He has become a shadow of his older self, nothing more than a shell going through the motions. Desperately he seeks a way out, and one night, it all hits him at once. This is what draws him to the bridge, staring down at choppy, freezing depths that seem to call his name.
That's where Bilbo finds him, about to jump to his death, and Bilbo desperately tries to stop him.Bookmarked by Acidscool

Bilbo while homesick and missing the Shire stays in Erebor, determined to be there for Thorin when he wakes up as there is much needing to be resolved between them, and much that had been left unsaid. When the fever finally breaks and Thorin opens his eyes it's cause for celebration. But when he has no recollection of the past thirty months and doesn't recognize Bilbo's face, they realize something has gone wrong.

Summary
Someone rang the bell. He expected a nosy neighbor, there to pester him for more bits of his tale, because it couldn't be the children since they never used the bell. But it wasn't a neighbor and it wasn't the children; it was a dwarf he knew and a dwarf he didn't. And despite never having met her, she wasn't hard to recognize. After all she had given her son's her eyes and shared her nose-
She shared her nose with her brother, too.
